Today we talk about how to create trainers for your own Pokemon game.

I took some days to test functions by creating trainers. I tested occasionally how it works with phone calls, regestry a trainer, how it works with rematches and how it works to get them stronger and stronger. I also find a special and practical funktion of the system of Pokemon Essential itself. In this part I will show you only the basic trainer and what you have to know.

Ich brauchte einige Tage um Funktionen für das erstellen von Trainern zu testen. Ich testete mitunter, wie es mit Anrufen, Telefonnummer regestrieren, wie das mit Rückkämpfen und wie es funktioniert, das ein Trainer immer stärker und stärker wird. Außerdem fand ich eine spezielle und praktische Funktion des Systems von Pokemon Essential selbst heraus. In diesem Teil zeige ich euch den Basic Trainer und wass ihr wissen müsst.

At first we have a look on the basic trainer. We can find one at Route 003 of the example maps. I hope you have not deleted them! Copy the first Trainer on the left side and paste him on your own map.

Zuerst werden wir uns den Basic Trainer ansehen. Wir finden diesen auf Route 003 der Beispielkarten. Ich hoffe ihr habt diese nicht gelöscht! Kopiert den ersten Trainer von der linken Seite der Karte und fügt diesen auf eurer Karte ein.

You can set the grafic for the trainer you want. The name of of the event is importent! Trainer(3) for example says the system it is a trainer and the view range of this trainer is 3 steps. You should not change is higher then the trainer can see the player. I think 6 should be the highest and naturally 1 the lowest. The trigger is Event Touch because in the game the dialog should start if the trainer is next to the player and not some meters away.

Ihr könnt die Grafik für euren Trainer frei wählen. Der Name des Events ist wichtig! Trainer(3) zum Beispiel, sagt dem System, dass es sich um einen Trainer handelt und dieser 3 Schritt Sichtweite hat. Ihr solltet die Entfernung nicht weiter setzen, als dass der Spieler den Trainer sehen könnte. Ich denke 6 sollte als Maximum genügen und natürlich 1 als Minimum. Der Auslöser ist auf Event Touch um den Dialog erst auszulösen, sobald der Trainer dem Spieler gegenüber steht und nicht wenn noch enige Meter zwischen den beiden liegen.

Normaly Comments are only for the developer as a documentation and don't intreact with the game itself. But not for Pokemon Essentials. The comments are important becauce they say the game system all the informations which are needed. The basic trainer without the rematch function by phone call needs 5 comments.
Battle = the text the trainer says before the battle screen
Type = the type of the trainer (later more)
Name = the Name you call the Trainer in the PBS-file (later more)
EndSpeech = the text the trainer says after you win in the battle screen
EndBattle = the text the trainer says if you talk to him after the battle

Normalerweise sind Kommentare nur für den Entwickler als Dokumentation gedacht und wirken nicht auf das Spiel selbst ein. Aber bei Pokemon Essential ist das anders! Die Kommentarre sind hier sehr wichtig, da diese mit dem Spiel interagieren und dem System alle nötigen Informationen gibt. Der Basic Trainer ohne die Funktion eines Rückkampfes durch Telefonanruf benötigt 5 Kommentare.
Battle = Text den der Trainer vor der Kampfszene sagt
Type = Typ des Trainers (später mehr)
Name = Name wie ihr den Trainer im der PBS Datei genannt habt (später mehr)
EndSpeech = Text den der Trainer nach einem gewonnenem Kampf in der Kampfszene sagt

The second page of the event is the same like the first one but as condition is the self switch A on. We save everything and then we start the game by using in the RPG Maker XP. The game compiles all data itself. If you are in the game, go to the map you have set the trainer and then exit. The game saves then automatically your changes in the event of your new trainer. Cose also your program and open your project again. Now the game should change everything in your trainer by using the informations of your Comments. Now you can See the Scriptcalls and the Text should be changed.

Die zweite Seite des Events is gleich wie die erste Seite, aber als Bedingung ist der Selbstschalter A ein. Wir haben alles und dann starten wir das Spiel vom RPG Maker XP aus. Das Spiel sammelt alle Daten selbstständig. Wenn ihr im Spiel seit, geht zu eurem Trainer auf die Karte und schließt einfach das Spiel wieder. Das Spiel speichert dann automatisch alle Änderungen in dem Event eures neuen Trainers. Schließt nun auch euer Programm und öffnet dann euer Projekt erneut. Jetzt sollten alle Änderungen des Trainers durch die Nutzung der Informationen eurer Kommentare aktuallisiert sein. Jetzt solltet ihr sehen können, dass die Scriptbefehle und der Text sich geändert haben sollten.

The Trainer Event is now finished but we are not done yet. We have to know what type a trainer can have and we hat to set the trainers name and Pokemons he/she have. We have to opten the game folder:
Trainertypes: your game folder -> PBS -> trainertypes.txt

Der Trainer als Event selbst ist jetzt fertig, aber wir sind noch nicht am Ende angelangt. Wir müssen wissen, welche Arten von Trainer es gibt und wir müssen dem Trainer einen Namen und seine Pokemon geben. Wir müssen unseren Spieleordner öffnen:

- = Trainertype for the system / für das System

- = Base money default = 30 / Basiswert für Geld Standard = 30
- = Battle music / Musik während Kampf
- = Victory Music / Musik, wenn der Spieler gewinnt
- = Musik if trainer see the player / Musik, wenn der Trainer den Spieler sieht

- = 4. = Difficultly / Schwirigkeit ( 100 = Elite 4 / Top 4)

You should not change the ID or Trainertype. Everything else you can change if you want. The most of the functions are not needet. Basically you need is 1,2,3,4 and 8. The amount of money is multiplyed by the highest level of all the pokemons the trainer have with the multiplier on 4. If you use a number, it should be higher then zero. If you want to use your own music like me, you have to write the exactly name of the file and have to put the music into audio -> BGM and Victory or Encounter on audio -> ME

Ihr solltet nicht die ID oder Trainertype ändern. Alles andere könnt ihr verändern. Die meisten Funktionen werden nicht benötigt. Was ihr unbedingt braucht ist 1,2,3,4 und 8. Der wert des Geldes wird mit dem höchsten Level von allen Pokemon, die der Trainer hat multipliziert. Verwendet ihr eine Zahl, sollte diese größer als 0 sein. Wenn ihr eure eigene Musik haben wollt, müsst ihr diese exakt nach deren Benennung aufschreiben und sie in den ordner audio -> BGM oder für Sieges und Begegnungs-Musik in audio -> ME packen.

All behind # is not used by the system, so i write "b" as information for me it the trainer is already used or not. All you have to know is between it.
You need trainertype in big letters, then the name, then the amount of Pokemon the trainer will have and then the Pokemons. They have been written into big letters and into english. After the name we need the level of them and we have our basic trainer.

Alles hinter # wird nicht vom System verwendet, also schreibe ich "b" als Info für mich, dass dieser Trainer bereits verwendet wird. Alles was ihr noch wissen müsst ist das dazwischen. Ihr braucht den Trainertyp in Großbuchstaben, dann den Namen des Trainers, dann die Anzahl Pokemon, die er/sie haben wird und dann die Pokemon auf Englisch mit Großbuchstaben auflisten. Dahinter befindet sich das Level der Pokemon und fertig ist unser Trainer.
