Game: Kenshi
Intro
I bought this game on Steam a while ago. So here we go, let's dive in and play it for hours.
I found out about this game through a streamer I watch, and honestly, it’s pretty much in line with the kind of games I enjoy.
This game is so good that I’m going to make a series about it. Each episode will be published every Saturday.
Hace tiempo me compré este juego en steam. Así que comienza lo bueno y vamos a jugarlo por un montón de horas.
Me enteré de la existencia de este juego por un streamer que veo y la verdad que se apega bastante a los juegos que consumo.
Está tan bueno que voy a hacerle una serie. Cada capítulo será publicado cada sábado.
Series Lore
In the world of Kenshi, anything goes, the only law is survival. Within this hostile and apocalyptic environment, there are different factions, each with its own culture and ideals. We will focus on one in particular... "The Holy Nation."
The Holy Nation is composed solely of humans. Their culture is based on a rather exclusive religion. They are also the most prosperous faction, with the strongest warriors.
In the Holy Nation, there are no female warriors, it’s forbidden. Women are also not allowed to voice opinions or own property, only men can.
So, we decided to create a character who will be both a warrior and a female. Eiko is the name of our protagonist, who has a past with the Holy Nation. She ended up on the streets a long time ago and is determined to seek revenge on this nation, as her current life was caused by their culture.
En el mundo de Kenshi todo se vale, la única ley es la de supervivencia. Dentro de este ambiente hostil y apocalíptico hay distintas facciones, cada una con su cultura y sus ideales. Nos enfocaremos en una en particular... "La Nación Sagrada".
La Nación Sagrada está compuesta únicamente por humanos. Su cultura se basa en una religión bastante excluyente. También son la facción más próspera y con los guerreros más fuertes.
En esta Nación Sagrada no hay mujeres guerreras, está prohibido. Las mujeres tampoco pueden opinar ni tener bienes, solo los hombres.
Así que decidimos crearnos un personaje que será guerrero y femenino. Eiko es el nombre de nuestra protagonista, la cual tiene un pasado con la Nación Sagrada. Ella terminó en las calles hace mucho tiempo y está decidida a tomar venganza contra esta nación, ya que su vida actual fue causada por la cultura de esta misma.
Gameplay. A New Routine
We start in neutral lands in the city of the Meollo. A devastated and ruined place where we find a bar, a ninja tower, and many homeless people around.
While exploring the city, we came across a house that we managed to open. This house had a chest and beds. After reading the logs we found in the chest, we learned that it had been abandoned by soldiers who lived there before the city fell into ruins. The logs mentioned that some kind of curse had befallen the city, which is why they abandoned it.
We took the items from the house to sell them and make some money.
Empezamos en tierras neutrales en la ciudad del Meollo. Un lugar devastado y en ruinas donde encontramos un bar, una torre de una especie de ninjas y muchos sin hogar alrededor.
Explorando la ciudad nos encontramos con una casa que logramos abrir. Esta casa tenía un cofre y camas. Leyendo las notas de bitácoras que conseguimos en el cofre, fue abandonada por soldados que vivían en esta ciudad antes de que cayera en ruinas. En las notas afirman que había caído alguna especie de maldición en la ciudad y por eso la abandonaron.
Aprovechamos y tomamos los artículos de la casa para venderlos y así conseguir algo de dinero.
The Bar
We went to the bar and sold everything we found from the abandoned house. But it wasn't enough. So, we started mining copper to sell it back to the same bar.
It was tough and took several trips, but we managed to establish a routine of getting copper and selling it at the bar.
The money was enough to buy some basic items, like a sword, bandages for wounds, and food.
Fuimos al bar y vendimos todo lo que conseguimos de la casa abandonada. Pero no era suficiente. Así que empezamos un trabajo de minar cobre para venderlo al mismo bar.
Fue duro y tomó varios viajes, pero logramos una rutina de conseguir cobre y obtener dinero vendiéndolo en el bar.
El dinero alcanzó para comprarnos algunas cosas básicas, como una espada, artículos como vendas para heridas y comida.
Neighboring city.
Since we had some money, we could afford to visit some shops. So the plan was to head to the neighboring city to see what we could find.
We had food for the trip, and just as we were about to leave, around 10 bandits appeared asking for all the food we had with us. If we refused, they would attack us and take it by force.
We had worked so hard for all those resources, so we refused and went straight to the bar to take refuge.
Como ya teníamos algo de dinero, podíamos darnos el lujo de visitar algunas tiendas. Así que el plan era ir a la ciudad vecina a ver qué conseguíamos.
Llevábamos comida para el camino y justo cuando íbamos saliendo, unos 10 bandidos aparecieron pidiéndonos toda la comida que llevábamos encima. Si nos negábamos, nos atacarían y lo tomarían por la fuerza.
Habíamos trabajado muy duro por todos esos recursos, así que nos negamos y fuimos directo al bar a refugiarnos.
Bar fight
The bandits didn't take "no" for an answer and went after Eiko. As soon as they entered the bar and caused a ruckus, the guards working there immediately came out. And a fight broke out.
While the other mercenaries kept enjoying their food and drinks, Eiko and the guards were fighting with the bandits. Eiko still doesn't have combat skills, she can only block some attacks.
On the other hand, the guards are well-trained for combat, and only two or three of them are needed to take down all the bandits. Even the tavern keeper joined the fight, which was pretty epic.
Los bandidos no aceptaron un no por respuesta y fueron a por Eiko. Al entrar al bar y armar el alboroto de conflicto, de inmediato salieron los guardias que trabajaban allí. Y se armó una pelea.
Mientras todos los demás mercenarios seguían disfrutando de su comida y bebida, Eiko y los guardias estaban en una pelea con los bandidos. Eiko todavía no tiene habilidades de pelea, solo puede bloquear algunos ataques.
Por otro lado, los guardias sí están entrenados para el combate, solo dos o tres fueron necesarios para acabar con todos esos bandidos. Incluso se unió a la pelea la tendera, fue bastante épico.
Taking advantage of the situation
The guards started removing the bandits' bodies from the bar. Many of them were unconscious, and others were so badly wounded that they wouldn't last long.
So I took the opportunity to loot all the bandits and sell their weapons and clothes at the bar.
An NPC passed by and said, "There's nothing of value here, outsider." And maybe they were right, comparing it to the loot we can find throughout the game. But we couldn't afford not to take advantage of this event to at least make some money.
Los guardias empezaron a sacar los cuerpos de los bandidos afuera del bar. Muchos de ellos estaban inconscientes y otros tan heridos que no durarían mucho vivos.
Así que aproveché para lootear a todos los bandidos y vender sus armas y ropas al bar.
Un NPC pasó al lado de nosotros y nos dijo "Aquí no hay nada de valor, forastera". Y quizás tenga razón comparándolo con los loots que podemos encontrarnos a lo largo del juego. Pero no podemos darnos el lujo de no aprovechar este evento para al menos sacar algo de dinero.
Summary
We started from scratch in this world with no gear and little money. We managed to sell some items we found in an abandoned house, mined copper to sell and buy some things. Then, on our way to another city, we were attacked by bandits. Fortunately, we were just leaving the city and managed to bring the fight to a place with guards. We looted all the fallen bandits' loot, which was taken by the guards, and sold it at the bar. After healing our wounds, we kept the loot we were interested in and went back to the abandoned house to rest. We'll travel to the other city in the next chapter.
Comenzamos desde cero en este mundo sin nada de equipo y con poco dinero. Conseguimos vender algunos artículos que encontramos en una casa abandonada, logramos minar cobre para luego venderlo y así comprar algunas cosas. Luego, camino a otra ciudad, fuimos atacados por unos bandidos. Por suerte, apenas estábamos saliendo de la ciudad y logramos llevar esa pelea a un establecimiento con guardias. Agarramos todo el botín de los bandidos caídos a manos de los guardias y lo vendimos en el bar. Luego de curar nuestras heridas, nos quedamos con lo que nos interesaba del botín y fuimos a la casa abandonada a recuperar fuerzas. Viajaremos a la otra ciudad en el próximo capítulo.

This game promises many hours of gameplay. I want to take this story far. The goal is for Eiko to become stronger than the Holy Nation and overthrow some generals.
