Taking Adventage Of Used Gallons To Grow Veggies

Why are there so many used mineral water gallons? That's because in Indonesia, especially in my area, we can't drink water directly from the tap.

So we are used to buying mineral water in large gallon containers to save money because usually large gallons are cheaper than buying drinking water in smaller plastic containers.

I don't boil water from the tap because it doesn't taste good and it also wastes gas or electricity. It's actually cheaper to buy mineral water in large containers like this. So that's why in my residential area there are so many unused used gallons. Instead of throwing them in the trash or giving them to people who pick up trash to be recycled, I choose to use those used gallons for plant pots in my garden.

So in the video in this post I will share how I use the used gallons that I have for use as a good seeding medium. Also for planting media for spinach and water spinach plants.

I will also show my activity of moving bitter mustard seedlings to the planting medium that I previously used to plant water spinach that I had harvested earlier. Meanwhile, the planting medium that I used has been cleaned and I mixed it again with burnt rice husks and also manure so that the nutritional content is good for this new planting.

I also use the used gallons to plant other vegetables besides for the seeding container. Indeed, for the time being while waiting for the other vegetable seeds to be sown, I immediately planted spinach and water spinach seeds into the used gallon container media which does not require special seeding first, like other vegetable plants. So with this method I can also maximize my time in my garden. So that my garden can be productive even though I only have a small area for gardening.

I divide one gallon into two parts because the gallon is large in size. So by dividing it into two parts it will save planting media. And the most important thing is that I can have more planting pots.
