Good morning to the generous community of gardeners and plant lovers. I present below a group of beautiful plants that we can have in our gardens or simply inside the house.

Palo de la Felicidad

First of all I show you a plant that has in my country Venezuela a lot of tradition regarding the theme of good luck. It is the Palo de la Felicidad. This is a very kind ornamental plant in that it does not demand much attention, its leaves are always green and shiny, you can say that almost perfect where you want to place it, both outside the house and inside it.

_{En primer lugar les muestro una planta que posee en mi país Venezuela mucha tradición en cuanto al tema de la buena suerte. Se trata del Palo de la Felicidad. Ésta es una planta ornalmental muy bondadosa en cuanto a que no demanda mayor atención, sus hojas se mantienen siempre verdes y brillantes, se puede decir que casi perfectas dónde quiere que se coloque, tanto en el exterior de la casa como en el interior de ella.}

Some people know it by the name of Brazilian Rosewood, it is said that it is native to that area although others differ assuring that it comes from Asia and Africa.

_{Algunas personas la conocen con el nombre de Palo de Brasil, se dice que es nativa de esa zona aunque otros difieren asegurando que es proveniente de Asia y África.}

For those who love the fragrances of plants, the Brazilwood is ideal, it gives off a pleasant scent although some people do not notice it.

_{Para los amantes de las fragancias de las plantas, el palo de Brasil es ideal, desprende un aroma agradable aunque algunas personas no lo notan.}

A particularity of this plant is that if we want to have it inside the home grows little, if we have it in the garden grows giant, strange is not it?

In Venezuela, the plant is appreciated inside the home because it attracts good energies, keeps heaviness and envy away... So it is said.

BROMELIA

Another attractive plant to keep in the garden is the Bromeliad, it is said that it also comes from Brazil, I do not know if it has a link with the Palo de la Felicidad but, some of its characteristics are usually similar. The Bromeliad are of terrestrial habits, lithophytes, herbaceous, if you observe where the plant is located you will notice that it is located in the trunk of a tree, there they develop very well because they make symbiosis with other elements.

_{Otra planta atractiva para tener en el jardín es la Bromelia , se dice que también viene de Brasil, no sé si tiene un vínculo con el Palo de la Felicidad pero, algunas de sus características suelen ser similares. Las Bromelias son de hábitos terrestres, litofitas, herbáceas, si observas donde se ubica la planta notarás que está ubicada en el tronco de un árbol, allí se desarrollan muy bien porque hacen simbiosis con otros elementos.}

Unlike the anteriot plant, the Bromelia changes the color of its leaves from green to pink, its leaves are thick and keep the water in the center of them, I have seen that some insects gather there either to leave their eggs, to catch other insects such as spiders or also to collect water from it.

_{A diferencia de la planta anteriot, la Bromelia cambia el color de sus hojas de verde a rosa, sus hojas son gruesas y mantienen el agua en el centro de ellas, he visto que algunos insectos se juntan ahí ya sea para dejar sus huevos, para atrapar otros insectos como arañas o también para recoger agua.}

Elk's horn or deer horn

The third plant is scientifically known as Platycerium bifurcatum , those who cultivate it call it elk's horn or deer horn. Although it seems to be a difficult plant to cultivate it can grow wild, a common way to see it growing is in trees or on some rocks. I understand that this elkhorn belongs to the fern family, they are leafy and beautiful, their thick leaves are formed like real elk antlers.

_{La tercera planta se conoce científicamente como Platycerium bifurcatum , quienes la cultivan la llaman cuerno de alce o cuerno de venado . Aunque parece ser una planta difícil de cultivar, puede crecer en forma silvestre, una forma común de verla crecer es en árboles o en algunas rocas. Entiendo que este cuerno de alce pertenece a la familia de los helechos, son frondosos y hermosos, sus hojas gruesas se forman como verdaderos cuernos de alce.}
