Since most people in our neighborhood are gardening too, we share the dagami (rice straw) from the rice field near our house, we needed more healthy or good soil for our plants.
We've been trying to plant more in any plants that we have. Now hubby is looking for good soil to start transferring the pechay seedlings. I bought another pot for him to use but the problem now is the soil to use for planting. Hubby told me that maybe next week they(with his co-workers from the Nursery Agriculture) will be getting some soil near our place and he plans to get some for his plants.
Since we already started to harvest our pechay plants hubby started to transfer some of his pechay seedlings to the empty pots. Hubby also told me that one of our neighbors plant to buy some of our pechay plants. Well since we can't consume all of them then it's okay to sell some of them.
Hubby had to transfer his newly planted eggplant to the upper part of our garden so he can use the space for his bell pepper seedlings. He even temporarily planted the bell pepper seedlings in the same pots where he planted his newly planted spring onion.
Our other plants are slowly growing now like the tomatoes that hubby just recently planted. Our bitter gourd and string beans are growing fast but some of them were eaten by snails and worms.
Some of our spring onions are kinda ready to harvest but then it's not yet the right time to harvest them because the pests are attacking the leaves. The leaves didn't look that healthy anymore because of the snails and worms.
Because of the El Niño happening in our country, we have to water the plants twice a day since we didn't experience any rain these past weeks. We have to stock more water in the morning so we can use it to water our plants in the afternoon. We have to stock water whenever it's available because our water supply is not available 24 hours a day. They only give us a few hours a day to stock water. We are supposed to buy a water hose so it will be easier for us to water our plants but our problem is our water supply is not always available so it will be useless if we will purchase a water hose.
Hopefully, the water supply will be stable so we don't have to worry about where we get water to water our plants.
We are hoping that our plants will grow healthier and bear more vegetables like string beans, bitter gourd, tomatoes, and bell peppers.
I guess that's all for the updates on my husband's garden. I hope you did enjoy reading my article. Thank you so much for reading it. God bless!
