Short post and a Garden Joke
Hi folks, omg it has been super super super super busy here in the garden. We have had so much to do. Its been crazy. No blogging just Spring work. AND this post itself is going to be short... more to come though.. I have a mega update in progress. The mega update has a massive amount of info in it really. so Didn't want this funny moment to get lost in the epic, and blogging separate.
How we are 7 days into spring and MOST of the planting is done, we are just still doing HUGE jobs.
but right now i want to talk about something funny.
MY HUSBAND HAS BEEN WATERING THE FAKE PLANTS!!!!!!
He thought he was doing a great job keeping a plant alive (it was fake) anyway i have now switched them out for REAL plants. so hopefully they can stay alive.
I mean... that is a JUSTIFIED purchase right??? He was wasting water, and damaging a plastic item.. lol... MUCH better to put in real ones. All his wasted effort. Ha Ha ha.
so i decided that i needed to have a big planting day the other week. Got all the plants and the soil. I thought... "i don't need to go outside into the fresh air and do the planting". I can stay inside. These are small plants and small pots and it won't get everywhere?
I was wrong
It Did
I am never never never planting inside again. What a mess
I got soil everywhere and it fell into boxes and places that are hard to clean.
HAve any of you every tried anything silly like this... sigh...
What i did
Basically i went to bunnings and chose several plants that were fairly hardy, liked low filtered light, and somewhat humid environments. picked a few i liked. Tried to avoid totally poisonous ones in case the cat eats it.
I used a special pot mix, as i need the soil to be suitable for plants that do not like soggy roots. it was very light and fluffy.
Then... i just made a mess with stuff everywhere.
I DID use gloves though so at least when i pulled them off my hands were clean.
ah well. I how have some lovely pot plants everywhere. I ahve to be careful where i put them as the CAT eats anything if he can reach it... grrr...
Anyway, here are the pot plants 2 whole weeks later. Very much still alive:
Apparently this one is a "Air cleaner" plant and is very good. We will see.. lol... need 1000 of them though. lol
This Orchid, was actually a gift i got the other day for coming to a rescue for a friend.
This beautiful one is a Calathea Makoyana - its very pretty don't you think?
Anyway folks that is it for the moment, i know i normally post MEGA big updates, but this is not one of those. I am writing one of those though. Hopefully in the next few weeks we will get something juicy.
Thanks guys
Sarah
Below is the garden when we moved in - green - but nothing to eat
