In my past blog about my garden, I mentioned that harvesting is one of the happiness of a gardener and one of the saddest part is that when you see your plants dying and withering but you didn't know the cause of it. Unable to save them is like a bullet that pierced my heart when I saw the state of my string beans. I showed before how I cared my plants especially on how I removed the tall grasses within it. I also showed how healthy they are and hoped that I can harvest a lot from it. I had high hopes before and I was very happy about it.
In our life, there are certain times that we don't have the control over a lot things and that's what happened to my string beans. A tragedy befall on them and led them to their end. I'm very sad about it but I have to move on and plant once more. Nothing will happen if I will just stare at their state.
So yesterday I continued the work I left on Monday. After I finished cleaning the area I decided to plant those seeds of string beans once again. This time I'm with my grandmother because she said that she will get something for our lunch. While she did her thing, I did what it needed to be done.
I also mentioned in my past blog that we gathered organic soil to be use in my garden and this time I brought half sack with me to be put in the holes I dig where I will put those seeds. I decided to put some in those holes for my string beans to grow well. I did it last time and I can say that it's effective.
After putting some organic soil in those holes, I put 4 seeds per hole just like before. While I was busy planting the seeds, I noticed my grandmother that she already finished gathering some shoots of Chili to be partnered with the native chicken we slaughtered the night before. I took some stolen shots of my grandma while she cleaned those fresh shoots.
The shoots was just so perfect for that chicken meat and I can say that I did enjoy it.
We're not the only one in my garden and my dogs were with us also. They're tried hunting dagang bukid or farm rats but no luck at all. hihi. My cat Shizu is the one who's good in hunting those rats. If you don't know about dagang bukid, it's one of the exotic foods here in the Philippines. If you're doubting if they are edible or they are clean, ofcourse they are and they're not like those ones that's present in our homes or in canals in the city.
After I finished planting those seeds, I decided to check on my ladies' finger and I was wondering why it's leaves are not whole anymore. I get closer it and I found out that some creatures are enjoying those leaves. I one leaf there are four of them yay. This one is dangerous.
Look at those spikes on it's body. For sure it will itchy if you will be in contact with those. I removed them ofcourse because they're already destroying my plant.
Before we go home, something caught my attention and I took a picture of it because it's beauty just extraordinary for me.
When we got home my grandma noticed that one of the fruit of my banana is already ripe that's why I decided to harvest it . There's another set of this banana that's not yet ripe as you can see in the photo.
Blessings after blessing and the other variety of banana has bore fruit already. This one is the one used in turons and banana cues.
I can say that after the downfall of my string beans I was blessed in other way just like those bananas. You can't really predict what might happen next that's why I really love gardening and planting. There's a lot of suprises within it.
That concludes my garden journey yesterday and I thank you for reading once again friends.
