How are you again my fellow hivers and at the same time gardeners, farmers? I hope you're doing good and your garden is giving you the joy you deserve.
As for me, I've been doing good for the past days and I started this year taking care of my garden. I've said here before that my tomatoes are already in it's flowering stage and I've been bringing it inside our house at night then brought it outside at day. I had to do it since the snails here in our place loves to eat my plants lol. Whatever I plant outside they will eat all and will not left any leaves just the stems.
Since my tomatoes are already flowering, I need to place it in it's permanent place already. I planned to place it between my malunggay where it can absorb sufficient sunlight. I trimmed also my san francisco plants for that purpose.
So yesterday, I did it and I'm hoping that the snails will not try to eat it's leaves. There's no more poles available which I can use to support my tomatoes so I had to get one.
Together with my cousin, we went to the riverside to look for some bamboo that will act as a pole or supporter for my tomatoes. Gladly that there's one available just in it's side so without further a do, I take it using a bolo as you can see in the photo below.
I measured first the right height of the poles for my tomatoes before I cut it. After that I began to cut it and someone was at my back with his head on me hihi. My dog Boy really wants to be with me all the time whenever I'm doing something. He just wants to stick around.
When I tried to scold him to get off my back, he stand up and began to used his hands to scratch my back. What a pet hihi. My cousin was laughing at us since he won't get off me.
After that, I began to cut some recycled straws from a lantern last Christmas that I get from the house of my aunt since I thought that it can help me in many ways and using it as a rope is one of them. With this one I don't have to look for rope or something that I can use to tie their stems within the pole anymore.
Before I place the pole and tie my tomatoes, I placed pieces of broken hollow blocks to the area that will seperate the pail from the soil. This act will prevent the worms to get inside the container and cause harm to the roots of my tomatoes.
After I finished the task, I took a photo of it and as you can see, my tomatoes are already secured and will not bow down if they will bear fruits already. If it needs more pole in the future then I will add more. And that's how I put poles to my tomatoes to make them secured.
Update on my string beans.
My string beans are already climbing on it's poles and I noticed that there's still a lot of black aphids on it's shoots that's why I sprayed soap on it yesterday. Soap is the one that I used since I searched some remedies on the internet. My aunt is suggesting a pesticide that is suited for this kind of pests but it's a little bit expensive so I'm trying some home remedies to get rid of it.
What I did was effective but still there will be left that's why I sprayed another again.
My okra or Ladies' fingers are also flowering and will bear it's baby okras soon. Can't wait to harvest some of it and boil some.
Some creatures also caught my attention so I took photo of them.
Thank you for reading.
