We have days with temperatures of 37-38 degrees Celsius, then rapid weather changes with wind and rain. Luckily this year there are fewer supercell storms and the wind is generally of lower intensity.
After the rain, a cooling of ten to fifteen degrees follows.
It is quite bearable for two days and then the heat returns again.
When I say heat, I mean temperatures over 32 degrees.
I'm just guessing how these oscillations affect plants.
After the rain I managed to take a picture of the Purslane (Portulaca oleracea)
It grows wild in my garden, just like dill. It's getting ready to flower
So it's no longer suitable for use, but I'm letting it flower and seed and reproduce for next season.
Speaking of wild plants.
A sunflower sprouted in my yard.
In a corner by the wall and next to the gravel.
A bird probably dropped it, And that's real happiness for my son because he loves sunflowers.
We're waiting for it to grow and produce seeds.
I have four hazelnut trees in my yard
And they're not ready to harvest yet
But there's a lot of them lying around on the ground so we're collecting them and drying them.
The drying method is more gentle, we spread it on a cloth and put it in the sun when it is not strong and in a draft.
Here's a question for everyone:
Do you think the garden returns the love we give it?
I say yes.
So here are the heart-shaped potatoes.
There are still a few potatoes left in the ground, they need to be dug up, they've started to rot in the ground.
These little pests don't give up and neither do we.
These snails, although they seem harmless, can cause a lot of damage.
That's why we collect them regularly.
The chokeberry harvest is over, and we picked it several times
I'm happy with one bush
There's another one, but it's young
And the blackberry, well, the harvest takes a long time, every day or every other day
I tried a little experiment with walnuts, mulberries and grapevines.
since the plants are small.
I didn't pull out all the grass around them.
I just let the grass grow with them and shade them from the sun.
I water it regularly and it seems the experiment worked.
Thanks for reading .
Until next time.
Stay healthy.
