Happy new month! If I didn't check the calendar, I won't noticed at all that it's already May. Even though i'm with my phone all the time, I don't really give much attention to the date but just the time. And because the date has smaller font than the time, I tend not to notice it. Aigoooo, is it just me? (≧▽≦)
Anyhow, I shared about Mom's squash in the garden like weeks ago, they are starting to sprout already and just today, Mama decided to harvest it. She only harvested one of it's sprout though, the bigger one. We didn't go to the market today so Mama decided to get one squash in her happy garden, lol. She also get some of it's leaves and also included a sweet potato leaves. Hah! Having a garden really is amazing! ♪ \(ω\ )
There it is, she gave me half of the squash she harvested and even get me a squash leaves and sweet potato leaves. First thing I thought after seeing this was "Bulanglang." It's one if the dish that we live to make if we want something with soup.
Here's the fresh green leafy vegetables, there's not kuch but it's enough to make one dish for one meal. And i'll be making Bulanglang with this by the way. That's what Mommy F requested me to make.
When I saw the harvested vegetables, I decided to visit again her garden to check if there's more squash that we can harvest soon, and yeah, there's a lot more and its continuously sprouting blossoms and flowers
This is the biggest one in there, it was hidden by it's own leaves on the ground that why I didn't saw it. But Mama pointed it out to me, she already check them so she already knows where's the others blossom. She also mentioned about those wasted one that fall on the ground because of the rain every night for days now. Good thing the big one didn't fall.
Even the Guava Tree is doing really fine here, look at all those white fallen petals. They're from the guavas, Mama haven't made a Guava Jam again. I'll try to ask her to make some again one of these day
So going back to the Bulanglang, after visiting Mama's garden, I began preparing the ingredients for it. I started by peeling and washing all that needs washing. I also cut them into smaller sizes. The plan is not to peel it but then I noticed that the skin is already hard so I just peel it.
Next us cutting all the aromatics, I just use onions, garlic and ginger. Mommy want me to use chicken cubes so i'll use that instead if vetsin (╥﹏╥). As for the water, instead of just regular water, I used Rice Water instead, that too can add flavor to the Bulanglang.
Making Bulanglang is really easy. We'll start by putting the rice water, ginger, onions, garlic, salt and chicken cube in the casserole and wait for it to boil. After that, put next the squash and cook it until it soften. As for how many minutes you should cook it, depends on how hard the squash is. This for sure won't take 10 minutes. We'll put the green leaves last and done!

Such a Milestone! It took me a while to achieve this feat, but I am thankful that I finally achieve it. So now I can start working to achieve 8000 HP this time.
