In our daily life, animals in the external environment cause various damages to us. Among them ,the damage caused by rats is not insignificant. They devour our valuables. Examples include Our harvest ,documents, food items, crop yields. This article explain a stratergy used in srilanka in the past as a solution to the damage caused by rats.
In this thechnologicalworld, alarge number of advanced technical, chemical and mechanical methods are used for rodend control. Most of them are efficient and succesful methods. But in this article I am referring to a mechanical method that was used to control rats in Srilanka in the past. This is my life experience and I have tried this practically . This is a simple method taught to me by my grand father.
I am sharing with you the facts about this primitive method in this high- tech age only for information and many more successfull methods have been found now.
Most of the methods on the market kill rats and destroy their lives. It disturbs the ecological balance. These are some examples of such methods.
But the specialty of the method I am talking about is that you can catch rats alive. Its photos are shown below.
Rats caught in this way can be removed from the place. Throgh that method those animals will notharassed and our problem will be solved.
This is very easy and can be setupas follows.
Raw materials needed.
•A piece of wooden board 2×2ft
•A pot of clay
•A coconut leaf stick
•A piece of burnt coconut
•A nut coconut
The trap should be set as shown inthe image above. A piece of burnt coconut should be attached to one end of the coconut leaf stick and other end should be attached to the nut coconut. Then place the clay pot on the board as shown in the picture and gently place the clay pot onthe nut as shown in the picture.
The rat comes to eat the coconut pieces enters the pot through the space between the board and the clay pot. When the rat trys to eat peace of coconut , the pot slides down and traps the rat.
Then you can put it away from us without die. This is a simple yet eco- friendly method that can be used by animal lovers as well.
