Preparation for the Winter
Winter is coming and I decided to start some gardening activities in preparation for that. It's not that I did not try earlier - in fact I tried to build it in July, but then this year, rain has been devastating. Most of the times its a low pressure situation, and that gives continuous rains for 4-5 days, making the soil tight and thus restricting the growth of plants. And it was very difficult to contain the insects - I even bought a big sprayer to add some chemicals this time. But then I had to give up, they won with continuous rains.
That is the reason, you have not seen a garden post from me since long time. At the end I decided to take care of big plants in our society - kind of a community work. I know taking care of plants gives me some sort of satisfaction, so why not do some good work for the society. So I made it a schedule to spray seaweed and insecticides on these big plants, so that we would get some flowers every day. Now that, the rain has stopped, I went to the nearby govt nursery and got some Chrysanthemum along with French Inca to start with.
To my surprise the nursery even looks deserted for the same reason. The rain has spoiled their plan.
They have started putting the seeds couple of weeks back only, and look at the size of these saplings. In the interest of time, I got up quite early to finish the work on that day.
Its a lot of work to make so many pots ready, so I decided to plant on the smaller pots.
Sometimes people think, I am the gardener of the society 😀 but I am happy with that as well. Those who know me, know about my passion for gardening and the amount of effort I put in.
It almost took 4 hours to prepare the pots and then replant these Chrysanthemum along with French Inca. In fact, they gave more French Inca saplings and I did put them in a big container to grow for a while, because I was not in a position to make all the pots ready.
It will give me a little bandwidth by the time they grow better. And I also planned to take one pot to my native along with some Chrysanthemum - there also it's me who has to put up everything so that Mom gets some flowers in Winter. I have also put some French Inca seeds , but they are yet to mature.
If they grow well, there could be hundreds of saplings and can be utilized in our society garden, for which I am also giving guidance. The soil is pretty tight, so I even bought couple of cocopits to mix in that bed.
So after all these hard work, here they are - hoping for the best to see them ready in a month. And then planned to take everything to my native to be able to put up the mini garden there. Hope you will see some more garden posts now from me - its so much of work that, I literally don't get time to write often here.
