Friends, Happy Monday everyone. This is semarekha from Bangladesh.
Today is a beautiful and bright, sunny day. To tell the truth, this summer was good for us, because the heat level this year was very high, due to which the normal life journey was very disturbed. In fact, as the balance of the environment is deteriorating day by day, as the amount of green nature is decreasing, the intensity of heat is also increasing.
I had to work very hard to work this summer, because our Ramadan month was in the midst of intense summer heat, due to which it was very difficult to keep everyone fasting. Moreover, there are a lot of traffic jams in our city, so it was more painful because of the heat.
But I have arranged my garden a little differently this summer, as the rainfall has been low this year, so I have tried to plant hardy vegetables and take care of them. I spent two hours in the morning and afternoon in the garden, tried to give enough water. No pesticides are used. My garden is very nice and green.
In today's post I will try to present the updated status of my garden. What vegetables have I planted in the garden this summer - jute-plant, yardlong bean, amaranth, green chilli, brinjal, coriander leaves and tomato. But jute-plant, yardlong bean and amaranth have been the best. It is very beautiful to see the scenes. Of course, I planted sponge gourd and it has not grown that big yet.
Planted several sponge gourd seedlings but they didn't grow due to lack of sufficient rainfall, but two plants grew thick and used them to climb upwards, trying to water them regularly so that they matured quickly.
I planted many brinjal seedlings on my front and back sides keeping in view Ramadan, because in our country the demand for brinjal is at its highest during Ramadan. But even though they are big, the yield is not so much, moreover, the sizes are not so big as before, but the amount yielded is enough for me.
The best and most beautiful are jute-plants because they are quite temperature tolerant due to which there is no problem even if the rainfall is not enough. Although I watered the plants regularly. Half of my entire garden has jute-plants. I have been picking them up quite regularly and trying to cook and eat them.
Due to the excessive heat, not many tomato plants were able to grow, but two plants survived and produced very good tomatoes. But many tomatoes are wasted because of birds, which leak the tomatoes and eat the watery part.
Yardlong bean is also a great heat tolerant vegetable, I had a pretty good feeling about it. I did, however, spread some straw under these plants to prevent the plants from dying from the heat of the soil, with pretty good results. The plants have grown quite nicely and are bearing lots of Yardlong beans.
Two plants of green chillies have grown very nicely, but the fruit has not come as expected due to lack of rain. But the plants have flowered a bit and the peppers are starting to come in, hopefully the rains will start producing good results.
In fact, this year's lack of rain, excessive temperature has hampered the general condition of people's life as well as the normal condition of nature and production has also been hampered.
However, those of us who have some opportunity to build a green garden at home or near the house, we have tried our best to do it and keep the environment of the house green to some extent.
It is a matter of great joy that we are constantly trying to grow green vegetables at home and keep them pesticide free. The smile of green nature and the taste of fresh vegetables makes our senses more lively. I will try to share better updates with you later.
All are my original photographs from my own garden.
Thanks all.
