Hello, my hive friends!
A fruitful day to one and all. Hope you are all safe and doing great. A blessed day, indeed! This is my first time posting in this beautiful community. Today, I wanted to share with you how happy I am when I saw the fruits from our garden.
We will be happy when we sow the fruits of our labor and I will share with you some of the plants in our school garden that made me happy.
We have malunggay plants, spinach, bell pepper, sword pepper, spring onions, tomatoes, okra ( ladies' fingers) and we have also ornamental plants.
Today, I will share with you the harvesting day of our okra, spring onions, and tomatoes.
THE OKRA
Okra (ladies' fingers) is a well-known plant and a source of antioxidants. When I was a child my mother used to feed me a viand with the presence of okra. Sometimes, she made okra viand with a little amount of meat and sometimes she made a Paksiw na Okra ( Okra cooked and simmer in vinegar). She used to tell me how helpful okra is to our body and that's why okra is one of my favorite plants.
It was a bright and sunny day as I watch our Okra bear fruits and I was happy then atlas! there were fruits already and I saw our spring onions and tomatoes needed to harvest too.
I was the one who harvested the fruits and it was a great feeling indeed. I used a pair of scissors to cut the fruit of the okra because that's what my mother told me when I was still a child in harvesting fruits so that plants still beautiful blooms and bear more fruits.
THE SPRING ONIONS
Spring Onions were used as mixing ingredients in almost all of the recipes. It adds a good smell and the aroma of the fried spring onions made us starved. The spring onions for me were always there every time I cooked together with the garlic.
I harvested some of the spring onions and replant the new ones to bloom more leaves and I was then happy when I harvested the plants that we took good care of.
THE TOMATOES
I also love tomatoes especially when it is already ripe. I mixed them with the dried fish or sometimes I mixed them with the eggs. Then the unripe tomatoes can be mixed with our sauce to add some sweetness and crispiness. It is yummy and healthy as well! And this day I harvested some of its fruits. Thank God for the blessings.
A nice feeling actually when you can harvest something from your labor. I enjoyed it a lot while harvesting them.
That's all for now my hive friends and thank you for sparing time reading this. Have a great day and God bless!
