Planting trees is very good for the environment but planting yummy fruit trees is the best. Hehe
So, it's the festive period yeah and we are gonna be having a family get together so I traveled to the village to meet with other family members.
I teased my Grammy into escaping with me to the family house where the get-together would be held just to see her beautiful soursop tree which she told me about on my last visit to her house.
The tree is planted somewhere at the back of the house with some other plants. I saw when the tree was smaller and yielded no fruit but on this particular visit, it had yielded lots of fruit which I couldn't wait to pluck but Grammy told me they weren't ripe enough for consumption so I left them hanging as eating unripe fruits isn't healthy.
Soursop is one of my favorite fruits and whenever I eat any fruit, I eat it with the mindset of what benefit it will do in my body and not only because it's edible.
The soursop tree actually was planted for Grammy to help kill cancerous cells that may likely want to grow in her body. She loves her soursop tree so much and I know why. She even said when she does, she should be buried close to the tree.
Do you know the benefits of soursop? I'll tell you in case you've been avoiding the fruit then you need to check again and get in mouth contact with it. Hehe
Here's the few benefit I know of soursop:
It helps in detoxifying the liver, pretty rich in soluble fiber, could reduce inflammation and best of all is that it is an anticancer phytochemical.
These are just a few things I know about this fruit. I've been busy lately and unable to read more about it but I have that on my to do list so as not to forget as I know we all love to expand on our knowledge on things of value.
I did ask her for some seeds whenever she had any, so I could have mine too.
That's all about this beautiful tree. Plant a nutritional fruit tree today and you'll never regret tomorrow.
