I finally have an achievement! I managed to grow a paulownia tree. I really like her huge leaves. However, in our climate it turned out to be not so easy. I bought roots and everything was fine. They took in perfectly well and I already dreamed of how soon I would rest in the shade of huge leaves, because this tree grows very quickly. But I was disappointed. In winter, the young stem just froze! And it all happened again... a tiny tree in my garden. Finally, I chose a different path. For two years I grew a tree in a pot, taking it to the greenhouse for the winter. And only this spring I planted it in the garden. As you can see, my efforts were rewarded.
But now there's a new problem. The stem will not have time to turn woody in summer and autumn... This means that we need to think about sheltering it for the winter. I've seen special cases on sale, but I don't know if they really work. Whatever it is, we will have to experiment, there are simply no other options.
Otherwise, my garden lives according to its summer plan. The flowering of daylilies has begun. I love these unpretentious flowers that create a garden living its own life.
I bought a few more types of lilies to replenish my collection.
The blooming of phloxes has also begun. This is another good option for flowers for an independent garden. In addition, they reproduce well, which makes it possible to make several bright corners in your garden without spending extra money on buying plants.
Callas also began to bloom. But I plan to take them to the flowerpots. I have a complicated relationship with these colours. If I forget to dig up the bulbs again, they won't survive the winter.
