Hello HiveGarden Lovers,today I will share the experiment of growing shallots in polybags. this is my first time growing shallots. Usually I grow ginger, turmeric and banana.
one of the green Ambon banana plants that I planted in my backyard garden. The banana tree that I plant is only 120-150 centimeters tall, when the fruit is ripe, my children can easily pick the fruit every day. because usually we let the bananas ripen on the tree and then we will take them one by one and pick the ripe fruit for us to eat.
I planted turmeric in a basket that was used to sell fruit, my regular fruit seller gave me this fruit basket for free. So there is no reason not to garden, gardening does not have to use a large area of land, we must be more creative in gardening, we can plant ginger and turmeric in polybags if we do not have a large area for gardening.

I also planted durian seeds and am still confused about where to plant them😅😅😅. The durian plant that I am sowing is 4,5 months old. 0I don't give fertilizer, just water it with ditch water in front of my house, this sewage water is good for growing plants that have just been sown, my grandmother said the mud in the water is "cold" and can be used as natural fertilizer for plants
I also grow fragrant pandanus to make cakes and compotes, because I prefer natural scents like pandanus.
a few weeks ago I had the idea to plant shallots in pots / polybags. So I put a few cloves of garlic in the fridge. My goal of putting shallots in the refrigerator before planting is to speed up the growth of the shallots that I will be planting.
After 2 weeks, the onion seeds that I put in the refrigerator started sprouting.
I will plant the onion seeds in polybags. I have prepared the soil in polybags a few days ago. try to have the soil in the polybag for a few days, this is to reduce harmful gases for our plants.
only 1/3 part of the polybag is put into the polybag. After the onion starts to get tall, I will add the soil little by little according to the growth of the onion.
We peel the outer skin of the onion, until the skin on the inside is visible.
I started to put the onion seeds in a polybag and filled it with soil.
after I planted the onion seeds in a polybag, then I put all the polybags in the shade, I put them under the avocado tree.
after that I water it, usually I plant the seeds in the afternoon to avoid exposure to the sun during the day.
