The rainy season has arrived in my country, which means I need to take better care of my plants.
During these months, none of them will die! I've already made up my mind to do so, so I must keep them free of excess water in their pots.
This is achieved in two ways:
- The first is through a loose, well-draining substrate.
- And the second is by protecting the plants indoors.
Since the soil I use for my plants is the same as the one from the patio, it's not that loose, unless I add organic matter. However, it's usually quite fertile.
And I don't want to spend more money. Right now there are a lot of expenses at home, we have to take care of Misu, and I'm investing in some things that will help me generate more income each month.
So I've chosen the third option. Now I have all the delicate plants inside the living room.

I told Mom the first time, but she didn't want to. It's understandable; plants bring crickets with them, and crickets tend to be very noisy creatures at night. Although I'm used to it because I sleep near the patio, my mother isn't.
So I just thought I'd bring them inside before it rains, and then, with the sunlight, they'll come back outside.
They've already received a lot of water; I lost some this season, but I'm keeping many of them. The idea is to avoid as many losses as I can, because many of them are in the process of generating more plants to sell in my online store.
So I have to take care of them as much as I can.
For now, they're doing well. I'm waiting for the soil to dry completely, and for the threat of rain to stop.
Tomorrow I have to get home from my internship and sweep everything up really well to avoid the crickets. Because I realized that when you have plants indoors, the only way to keep animals like crickets away is:
- Water the plants outside, in the patio.
- Sweep daily.

I prefer to have a base plate for each pot, but I don't have one. I have to get some. So in the meantime, I have to sweep. I'm not complaining, because at least my plants are safe inside the house. But I feel like I have a lot of them.
But hey, this is part of it. Plants are a responsibility, although I feel like it's a little lighter because I even just water some of them and that's it. Still, I'm responsible for them, especially if I want them to look beautiful all the time.
So here I am, taking care of them so they're well, look beautiful, and also serve my business.
I think when I start, I'll take it even more seriously than I do now, and that's fine with me. I've decided to monetize what I love to do to make a living from it, and I feel like I'm on the right track.
My plants are my passion, something I have long loved to do diligently, and although moving pots is a little tiring, I feel I do it with great pleasure.
