Greetings!
It has been 45 days since our crops were transplanted and they are starting to develop panicles in their stems. Checking rice panicles is part of a farmer's job and more than a week ago I conducted a visual checkup on our rice crops to see if they are starting to develop rice panicles and indeed their stem starts to thicken a little bit.
A thickening stem is an indication of the start of panicle development inside the stem of the rice plant. It is not easy to spot a thickening stem, especially for non-farmers. Visiting our rice farm every day makes it easy for me to spot changes on a rice plant, in this case, a thickening stem. The change is very subtle and is barely noticeable on video.
Below is a video of me while I am conducting a visual checkup on the stems of our rice crops...
In the video, I discussed and showed what a rice stem looks like when it starts to develop rice panicle or rice grains. Again, the changes are very subtle and are not easy to spot especially for non-farmers eyes.
Below is a gif image of the rice panicle that is still inside the stem of the rice plant. It is a variety of rice that is unintentionally mixed to the variety that we planted. The variety of our rice crops is RC 216 which is a variety that can be planted in any season.
IF I am not mistaken this mixed variety is either from the rice variety that we planted last season which is a hybrid variety.
