Hey Hive and especially my awesome Draw A Day peeps.
I just finished this new digital piece today and I'm pretty excited about it. It's kind of like an imaginary urban sketch; you know, one of those cool drawings of city scenes.
It's a young guy chilling at an outdoor cafe, totally absorbed in his phone. I was going for a late-afternoon vibe, with those warm, subdued colors. It looks like a real place, right? But it's all from my imagination. I've been thinking a lot about trying actual sketchbook urban sketching; but for now, this is how I travel.
There's a plant in the foreground framing the scene, and the table's got all sorts of random stuff on it; a snack, a book, a drink you know the usual.
Let me know what you think. Does it feel like a real place to you? Any tips for a newbie urban sketcher?
