This is a phrase I read somewhere, and it is not far from reality, but I would add that it is not for lazy people either, because the truth is that it requires a lot more work than when we are under the command of someone else, is to plan, direct and execute the things that at a certain moment were only in our mind, entrepreneurs do not have a stipulated schedule, because although we can try to assign ourselves a schedule, in most cases, we never fulfill it, because even when we are in bed, we have our minds on the projects we want to execute, and this is something that regardless of the venture you have, you are going to suffer. Undertake, they said, you will be your own boss, they said! But the reality is that being your own boss is not the easiest thing in the world.
Sometimes, as bosses, we come to hate ourselves a little, because we cannot afford laziness, lack of efficiency and much less missing work, although there are days when we really do not want to get out of bed. But today, I am not here to tell you how hard it can be to start a business, but to share with you a little bit of how beautiful and satisfying it can be when we start to see the fruit of what at some point was only a dream, or was only captured on paper. In February of last year, I decided to offer a first tray of brownies to sell in the employment of one of my brothers, quickly that tray of 10 units, became two, and sometimes 3, soon people came asking for full trays, others asked what other types of desserts offered, and so I was adding another variety of desserts to my small business.
With ups and downs, I continued with my desserts, then came to revolutionize my customers, the quesillos, by October I had projected to prepare Christmas dishes between the months of November and December, when suddenly my brother appeared, asking me to prepare some pastichos for some friends of his, and so it was, as we advanced the addition of savory dishes to my venture, By November my brother had partnered with me and we had begun to prepare lunches, pastichos and obviously the much desired Christmas dish, in January came the low season of any business, so, although the mood was a little low too, we did not stop working, my younger brother told me that his co-workers, who were my main customers for the date, if I prepared hamburgers, or some kind of junk food?
At that moment, I must confess that I answered yes, although with some fear, because, although I had prepared hamburgers for my family countless times, they never looked like the ones they were used to eating at a street food stand, to my surprise, my style of hamburgers was well accepted, and the fact is that, breaking out of the mold is what makes us unique and can position us in any market, I also read that somewhere, The truth is that I do not remember well when we started with this hamburgers and junk food, I think it was in February, certainly we have tried some foods like crazy fries, pepitos, farmers, but the constant has always been the hamburger, and as the creators of McDonald's, we decided to stay with what sells best, and perfect the versions we have so far, as well as the work process.
Using quality products, preparing some raw materials from scratch, and using a good cooking method has been making a difference, to the point of having to buy new equipment and work tools to meet the demand. A couple of weeks ago my brother, without much consultation, told me, I made a purchase that will help us a lot with the work, I thought it was a new food processor, since mine recently ceased to exist, but the surprise was that he acquired a new kitchen to work, equipped with a griddle to make hamburgers and two baskets for frying, something that will certainly help us a lot in the future, and that has reduced work times by more than half, thus offering our customers, faster when delivering orders.
A satisfied customer is the guarantee of a next purchase, that is something that, as entrepreneurs, we must never forget. Entrepreneurship is not easy, but undoubtedly, when we begin to see the results of our efforts, it gives us an indescribable satisfaction, so, if today you think that your business is not going as fast as you think, or want, you, continue working with the same passion, that step by step we will build that future that we want so much. ¡Hola, hola, queridos emprendedores, feliz y productivo inicio de semana! ¡Emprender no es para cobardes! Esta es una frase que leí en algún sitio, y no está nada alejada de la realidad, pero, yo añadiría que tampoco es para perezosos, pues la verdad es que requiere de muchísimo más trabajo que cuando estamos bajo el mando de alguien más, es planificar, dirigir y ejecutar las cosas que en determinado momento solo estuvieron en nuestra mente, los emprendedores no tenemos un horario estipulado, pues aunque podemos tratar de asignarnos un horario, en la mayoría de los casos nunca lo cumplimos, pues incluso cuando estamos en cama, tenemos la mente en los proyectos que queremos ejecutar, y esto es algo que independientemente del emprendimiento que tengas, lo vas a padecer. ¡Emprende, decían, serás tu propio jefe, decían! Pero la realidad es que, ser tu propio jefe, no es lo más sencillo del mundo.
A veces, como jefes, llegamos a odiarnos un poco, pues, no podemos permitirnos la pereza, la falta de eficacia y mucho menos faltar al trabajo, aunque, hay días en los que realmente no queremos levantarnos de la cama. Pero, hoy, no vengo a contarles lo jodido que puede llegar a ser emprender, sino, a compartirles un poco de lo bonito y satisfactorio, que puede llegar a ser, cuando comenzamos a ver el fruto de lo que en determinado momento solo fue un sueño, o solo estuvo plasmado en un papel. En febrero del año pasado, decidí ofrecer una primera bandeja de brownies para vender en el empleo de uno de mis hermanos, rápidamente esa bandeja de 10 unidades, se convirtió en dos, y en ocasiones 3, pronto llegaron personas preguntando por las bandejas completas, otros más preguntaban que otro tipo de postres ofrecía, y así fui adicionando otra variedad de postres a mi pequeño emprendimiento.
Con altas y bajas, continuaba con mis postres, luego llegaron a revolucionar a mis clientes, los quesillos, para octubre me había proyectado para preparar platos navideños entre los meses de noviembre y diciembre, cuando de pronto apareció mi hermano, pidiéndome que preparara algunos pastichos para unos amigos de él, y así fue, como adelantamos la adición de platos salados a mi emprendimiento, para noviembre mi hermano se había asociado conmigo y habíamos comenzado a preparar almuerzos, pastichos y obviamente el tan deseado plato navideño, en enero llego la temporada baja de todo negocio, por lo que, aunque los ánimos estaban un poco bajos también, no dejamos de trabajar, mi hermano menor, me comento, que sus compañeros de trabajo, quienes eran mis principales clientes para la fecha, ¿Si preparaba hamburguesas, o algún tipo de comida chatarra?
Para ese momento, debo confesar que le respondí que si, aunque con algo de miedo, pues, aunque había preparado infinidad de veces, hamburguesas para mi familia, no se parecían nunca a las que estaban acostumbrados a comer en un puesto de comida ambulante, para mi sorpresa, mi estilo de hamburguesas, fue bien aceptada, y es que, salir del molde es lo que nos hace únicos y puede posicionarnos dentro de cualquier mercado, eso, también lo leí por ahí, la verdad, es que, no recuerdo bien cuando comenzamos con esto de las hamburguesas y la comida chatarra, creo que en febrero fue la cosa, ciertamente hemos probado con algunas comidas como papas locas, pepitos, granjeros, pero la constante siempre ha sido la hamburguesa, y como los creadores de McDonald's, decidimos quedarnos con lo que más se vende, y perfeccionar las versiones que tenemos hasta el momento, así como también, el proceso de trabajo.
Emplear productos de calidad, preparar algunas materias primas desde cero, y utilizar un buen método de cocción ha ido marcando la diferencia, hasta el punto de vernos en la obligación de comprar nuevos equipos y herramientas de trabajo, para poder cumplir con la demanda. Hace un par de semanas mi hermano sin consultar mucho, me dijo, hice una compra que nos va a ayudar mucho con el trabajo, yo pensaba que era una nueva procesadora de alimentos, ya que la mía hace poco dejo de existir, pero la sorpresa fue, que adquirió una nueva cocina para trabajar, dotada de una plancha para hacer las hamburguesas y dos cestas para freír, algo que sin duda alguna nos ayudara mucho a futuro, y que ha reducido los tiempos de trabajo a más de la mitad, ofreciéndole así a nuestros clientes, más rapidez a la hora de entregar los pedidos.Imágenes de mi propiedad, tomadas con mi telefono Redmi Note 9S, editadas con Canva
