Hello Aseanhive friends!
We have another fun challenge this week. I am so happy that I am able to participate on this challenge.
Thank you @justinparke for always hosting such beautiful and exciting themes every week.
So our theme for this week is, How do you beat the heat? The scorching heat of summer!🔥🥵
Yesterday, the temperature in our city reached to 35 degrees celsius. It was so hot and to top it all the whole city underwent a power interruption from 5am til 4pm because our local electric company did some system maintenance good thing classes were suspended in all levels just so kids will not experience the heat.
Snapped this photo yesterday at our backyard, you can see the sky so bright and blue, Mr. Sun was really determined to show off how Hot of a gentleman he is!😎
Hubby decided to repaint our bedroom because I wanted to change our walls from peach to silver white so our room will look spacious and we'll lit since we don't have any ongoing projects and also this plan has already been put on hold for many months due to the unavailability of time. So yesterday, he started repainting good thing we have a generator set we were able to turn on the fan and listening to some upbeat music while he was painting.
Afternoon came and I was thinking of what to give my very hard working Boss to soothe the scorching heat. I decided to make some banana shake but I was not able to take photos of it. Today is his second day of doing the repainting of our bedroom and very timely I read the theme challenge of our admin @justinparke so I decided again to make the very delicious banana shake.
This time I documented the process of making banana shake in our kitchen lab!😄
I bought a kilo of bananas, we call this Saba in our local dialect. I prefer using this banana rather than the lakatan because this has a richer taste. Also a can of evaporated milk.
Then the very important ingredient that will trick our minds and brains thinking that it is very cold not hot😁.... Crushed ice!!
I sliced the bananas and added them to the crushed ice.
Then I added the milk to the mixture and some brown sugar, I prefer using the brown instead of the white because I think it's super washed and had undergone a lot of process already.
If it's a person it has undergone so much troubles and experiences its cup is already full no more space for added learning. Haha, so I prefer the rawer one, the inexperienced. Just teasing guys, the effect of the heat I guess.😁😁
I poured in all the milk in the big can so my husband will feel loved because it's very tasty and delicious!😍
Next, I let my blender do the hard work. It's time for him to earn his keeps. It has been hybernating for awhile in my cupboard so I let him do the crushing and the blending after two minutes of exercising its spinning blade, Viola!
Freshly blended banana shake ready for serving.
He tricked me on having a brain freeze, he was so good look at his acting on the photos! Haha
He got me!😄😄
Then he laughed, look at that smile of contentment.
So this is how we beat the summer heat, by making a very delicious banana shake and it did help us cool down specially my hubby after being busy the whole day on his painting project.
Hope you had fun reading my entry.
Let's rehydrate often guys, lots of liquids for summer is still here.
