Hello there hiver friends 😊
I got hungry, just as the prompt pop op in my wall. It is a rainy afternoon here beside the window thinking about what to post and why not talk about comfort foods while hungry. 😆 Plus, I can not go out easy in this heavy rains yet to got out to buy some ingredients. So let me share what I got here on my gallery.
Soup
Sinigang
I remember during lockdowns, I have eaten sinigang without even bothered with the sourness because I probably got the mild covid. I realized I couldn't taste anything when I was not satisfied with the amount of sinigang mix I poured into the boiling soup.
Sinigang could be a fish, shrimp and pork. Here I have pork, with string beans, okra and kangkong leaves. This is soup is not for everyone, its sour and taste like a 'panis' first time you taste it.
Snacks
Biko
Sweet sticky rice, mostly prepared for birthdays. I can eat a bit but not much because of the coconut milk ingredients you will be 'umay' easily. Biko is something we crave when its not available but if it is not there you sure would find it. Birthdays in my province is like ask after the happy birthday greetings.
You would say, "Happy Birthday, naay biko?" Translate to Happy Birthday, is there a Biko? We just smile if there is none, and gladly offer if there is.
Thats all for this weeks challenge.
See you next time
