Hello everyone, I been busy these few days, and it’s been hard to find time to sit down and compose a new story. But today, I finally had a moment to reflect and write about this one memory that’s very close to my heart. The story and picture I’m sharing now go back to 2022 such a special time for me. It was shortly after my mom arrived in Malaysia, just a few days after she landed. I had missed her so much, and finally having her with me again felt like a piece of my heart was back in place. I wanted to do something meaningful for her. After all the years she had spent taking care of me, sacrificing, working hard, this was my chance to pamper her and make her feel as special as she truly is. Its Sunday kids no school and my husband also at home, I ask my husband to take care the kids for half day I want to bring out my mother for a mother-daughter date, just the two of us. No distractions, no rush, just time set aside for bonding and making joyful memories.

We started our day at Pilipino salon here in Malaysia, it’s a bit far from our house, but it’s convenient for transport. The atmosphere there was so relaxing, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. I had booked appointments for both of us. My mom was no idea where are we going, but even though she tried to act modest about it. When we arrived in kotaraya, this mall is more on Pilipino people and shop. We go straight to my friend salon and my mom so excited, and she do her hair styled beautifully, something short and elegant that framed her face perfectly. Then she also do her nails done with classy polish, and even got her eyebrows shaped nicely with embroidery. I could see her looking at herself in the mirror, smiling shyly, maybe feeling a little pampered for the first time in a while. I treated myself to some grooming too, we both came out of that salon feeling like new women.
After the salon, we go out for dinner. I had made a reservation at my one of Pilipino friend working at a fancy restaurant that I knew served amazing steak and had a cozy ambiance restaurant and welcoming vibe. My friend manager lead us to our table that I reserve, where the lighting is soft, the music plays gently in the background, and you can just relax and enjoy the moment. We ordered two juicy steaks, my mom well done and for me medium rare, it’s perfectly cooked, and paired with a lovely glass of red wine. We talked, we laughed, and we also remember about old memories and shared stories from our lives. As the evening went on, we ordered dessert, coffee and cakes that were almost too pretty to eat. But of course, we enjoyed every bite. It’s not just about the food or the fancy place, it’s was about being there together for one of the rare precious moments where I feel completely present, completely connected. I could see the happiness on her face, the way her eyes lit up, how relaxed and content she looked. It meant everything to me. That memory, it’s not just a out for date. It’s also a very especial reminder for me, how we bond and share love that never fades even with time or distance. I wish we could do more mother-daughter dates, but sad to say it’s no more. But I still glad for all the memory and holding all those moments we made.
