Hello dear friends!
My baby turns 7 today. We only had a simple celebration. And I just want to share it with you. We spend it together with the whole family. This is his birthday cake, he choose the design. Since he is fond of playing minecraft, it is a minecarft inspired cake made by my cousin.
We always celebrate his birthday every year with a children's party. We invite the kids from the neighborhood. There's games and prizes. And he used to it. But this year was different. I can't afford to give him a party this year because of financial problems. I knew he wished for it. I was a bit sad and disappointed with myself. As a mother we want to give the best for our kids.
My baby while we're singing him the happy birthday song. I can see in his face that he was happy. Patiently waiting for us to finish the song. He is excited to blow the candle.
This is our food. We only have spaghetti, linapad and humba. HUMBA is a Cebuano term for ADOBO. It is a popular Philippine dish made of pork meat usually marinated in a sauce containing soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, some bay leaves and is simmered in the marinade. We added sprite to make it more tasty. LINAPAD is also a Cebuano term. I don't know what they call it in other places in the Philippines. It's almost cooked the same as afritada but the meat is cut thinner and wider. It is mixed with carrots, potatoes and bell pepper.
That's how we celebrate his birthday. Simple yet fun. Looking how happy my kids are, I feel contented. What matters the most to me is that they are in good health always. Simple but well spent. Having fun, making memories together!
