Good day everyone! Today is a peaceful Sunday, and I want to share with you a simple but happy moment from my day.
This morning, I went to my small backyard garden. I was happy to see that I could already harvest some fresh vegetables! I got Moringa leaves, Eggplant, sponge gourd, alogbati, okra and string beans. It feels so good to see my plants growing well.
While I was outside, one of my neighbors passed by and told me they had a gurami fish to sell, I bought one saga for only 50 pesos or 1 HBD! It was such a great deal. My daughter wants something with soup and vegetables today, so I decide to cook Gurami Fish with Vegetables a perfect healthy meal!
First, I cleaned the fish and fried it a little to make it tasty. Then I prepared the ingredients like onion, garlic and tomato, all the vegetables I pick from my backyard garden. I added the friend gurami into the pot, poured water and let everything simmer.
The smell in the kitchen was so good while it was cooking!
Having a backyard garden is really a blessing. It helps me and my family in many ways. First, it saves us money. Instead of going to the market to buy vegetables, I just go outside and pick what I need. Even if it’s just a small space, it gives us a lot of healthy food.
Second, it gives us fresh and chemical free vegetables. I know what I put in my soil, and I don’t use harmful chemical, only organic fertilizer. That means it’s safer and better for our health especially for my child.
Third, Gardening helps me relax. When I feel stressed or tired, after my online class I go outside and check my plants. Seeing them grow makes me happy and gives me peace of mind it’s like a little therapy for me.
Lastly, it teaches my child the value of hard work and patience. They see how plants grow slowly and how taking care of something brings good results. It’s a simple but powerful lesson.
So even if our garden is small, it gives us so much food, savings, joy and peace. I’m very thankful for it.
After cooking, his was our breakfast for Sunday before going to church, friend gurami fish with fresh vegetables. The taste was so delicious! The fish was crispy outside and soft inside, The soup was warm and full of flavor from all the vegetables.
We shared the meal together as a family. We were happy not only because it was delicious but also because we eat together as a family. These simple meals are truly special when you know you made it with effort and love.
