I was sad when I made the decision to quit my prior company after giving it a lot of thought. I have worked for about 5 years, during which time I have met a lot of friends and even learned new things that I will undoubtedly cherish. I made the decision to leave so that I could continue working from home. I wanted this arrangement because I'll be visiting our province frequently and I really want to see my family and relatives often.
I didn't think I'd get the job after my interview. This company is difficult to please; I've heard that some people who applied or sent their resumes had to wait 6 to 8 months before receiving a call. I believe I was lucky because a week after Kaye shared my CV, I received a call for an interview. To be honest, I was terrified after spending so many years with my prior employer that I may have not been able to adjust well since I have to unlearn a lot of things.
So when I started working for this company I had a lot of worries. I even protected myself from becoming close to everyone because we work from home and won't see each other most of the time. We had three weeks of training and three weeks of answering phone calls as a team. We completed the training and nesting phases last week. We received our certificate of completion, which was incredible. We made it to the real world after all of our hard work of coming to the workplace and working so hard to understand the procedure and processes.
We are now officially working from home, and while I miss coming to the office, this arrangement is far more convenient and cost-effective.
