25 years of friendship with these girls, named Joy, Che, Grace, and Welay is truly a blessing in disguise. Our friendship started when we became sophomore classmates in high school. We may not talk to each other every day after graduating from high school, since we are all busy with our lives, and now most of us have kids and husbands to tend to. Once we all decided to meet up or hang out, nothing changed. We are just like the same 15-year-old girls, giggling and reminiscing about our high school life, talking about kids, family, life, and everything.
After Highschool we need to go and explore our horizon, from a countryside high school girl to a college girl in the city. When I started going to college in the city, it was a shocking 360-degree turn of adjustments for me. I need to commute from my boarding house to my university, so it was very difficult for me at first. The good thing about it is that when I met my best friends, they made my life in the city bearable and easy. Those were the days when we became more curious about life, like starting to drink, going to the club, partying with friends, falling in love, and so much more.
They were my best friends when I started working. I first met Thessa and Lorle last 2008. We were all working in an English Academy where we taught English to Koreans. It was fun, and at the same time, we are no longer students anymore; we are already living the life, literally living in the “real world” where we are battling life and earning our own money. We realized the sacrifices of our parents just to earn money and support the family. I learned that indeed, money doesn’t grow on trees. You need to work hard to achieve whatever you want in life.
The one from the left is Zel, and the one from the right is Kate. Both are my best friends, too. I know I have got a lot of best friends whom I have already introduced before them, but I don’t know why I am very lucky to find these beautiful people in my life. I met them when I was working in a different academy. They are one of those people that, after we choose different paths in life, our friendship remains, and up to this day, we are all in touch and make sure that if I am on vacation, they will surely give me time to meet and catch up.
The one that I was with is Glenda (I am going to tell a little bit about her in the next picture below). Glenda and I travelled to Boracay for the summer of 2022. We decided to relax there for two nights and three days, and it was only the two of us. That was the best girl bonding ever for us.
This is my soul sister, Glenda. She was the last person I met among my other best friends that I’ve known for 10 years or so. I met Glenda last 2021, just right in the middle of a pandemic, where I started to work again after almost one year of just staying or being in quarantine in the house. I changed my path or career, then I met her because we were colleagues. Glenda and I just vibe right away. We are not only meeting in the office on weekdays, but we also hang out and take trips outside of work, and the rest is history. I am proud to say that all my best friends whom I introduced here up to this day are still in touch with me. And since some of us have already moved to different cities and countries, we made sure that when we get home, we are all going to make time and meet. They are not only my best friends, but they are all my “TRUE FRIENDS” because our “Friendships have tested the test of time”.
