Post Typhoon Odette: HELPING OUR BROTHERS AND SISTERS, HELPING A FAMILY

We're moving our Manual Curation Monday blog due to our upcoming charity activity to help our fellow Hive Cebu Bloggers Member. If you didn't know by now, Cebu was hit by a super typhoon just a week prior to Christmas. A lot of people were affected by the Odette and the crisis it caused was undeniable. Even until now, people are still recovering from the trauma and devastation the typhoon made in our homes. Our very own @sassycebuana's family was destroyed by the wrath of Odette.

The family was checked-in in a hotel in Cebu. While celebrating @morenatravel's (@sassycebuana's sister) wedding, the typhoon made its landfall. The next day, they went home to a house without a roof, everything was wet because of the rain, trash brought by the wind covered their things and everything was a mess. The celebration of her sister's wedding was cut short because of the typhoon and they became homeless afterward. It was a very difficult time for all of them. @sassycebuana has onboarded all of her siblings to Hive( @jongcl, @morenatravels, @swaycanete, @gwenfinity @eeventuree, @gioxide.arts, @thejoeprocess ), her sister in law (@krystalogue), and one of her nieces (@kcwonders). She has onboarded several of her friends too. Her contribution in bringing people to Hive can't be ignored. Aside from being an onboarding leader, she's also one of our Community Leader here on HCBC.

We, the HCBC with the initiative of our Community founder @purepinay decided to do a meet-up on January 15 with @sassycebuana together with her family. To catch up on some things and to be there with them in these trying times. There are still trying to build their home again which was built by their father. If you wish to donate any amount, you can send it directly to @sassycebuana's account. Any amount will mean so much to their family.

On January 15, we will also distribute small relief goods to our Hive Cebu Bloggers members who be there to join us in this small charity work. Some might say, that it seems too late but you all have to know that we were all devastated by the typhoon, regardless of how big or small, we all have a household to put up together as well and things to deal with our own.
