Hi, ASEAN Hive friends. Now, let's talk about friendship. Ugh, this was supposed to be an entry about Friendship a few weeks ago, but I wasn't able to publish it on time. I'll just change the title, anyway.
I asked myself if I had many friends or a group of friends. I've realized that I have many friends from diverse backgrounds.
These pictures were of my college friends, but actually, they were not my classmates. They were industrial engineering students, and I was a student of information technology. All of them, except me. Hahaha!
My three high school friends, Cheryll, Glaiza, and Rachellyn, went to the same college/university as me, but they enrolled in the Industrial Engineering course while I enrolled in Information Technology.
Most of the time, I was alone during breaktime since we had different schedules. I also had friends from the same course as me. It just so happened that they had a break time like me. I passed by the area where I heard girls laughing out loud. It was them, and I met their other IE friends.
Although I didn't finish my 4-year course in college, I still keep in touch with my three high school friends. Every time they decide to have an out-of-town trip or just search for places to travel within Cebu, they always invite me. Well, I am the traveler.
Snorkeling weekend getaway at Club Kontiki Diving Resort in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu
They asked me if I knew a place we could hang out as a group, just within Cebu. Most of the IE peeps are from Lapu-Lapu. Rachellyn has a car, so we were four coming from the south of Cebu. It was a good decision to hitch a ride with Rachellyn.
What you see in the photo is the Kontiki Reef Dive Site. I knew someone who was a certified scuba dive instructor and gave me a discount on snorkeling gear. I've been scuba diving and freediving at this site before, so I suggested it to my friends.
I forgot who brought Jollibee Chicken Joy and spaghetti take outs but we were so excited to eat our lunch. Hahaha! We did BYOP or Bring your own Packed Food. I forgot which one I brought with me.
My friends are not good swimmers. We got snorkeling gear and life jackets rented.
There is a border limit only for snorkelers and divers. Beyond that line are the boats and jet ski excursions for other guests from different hotels and resorts in the area.
I had my Olympus digital camera, so taking photos with friends was fun.
I was used to wearing two-piece bikinis, but my friends are all conservative, so I had to wear shorts and rashguards just like them. Hahaha!
And of course, photoshoots!
These photos were taken in 2018, but I was living in Palawan at the time of the year. We had a quick getaway before I flew back to Palawan.
When these photos were taken, two girls were married with kids, while the rest of us were single.
We had this yearly get-together in previous years, and they never missed inviting me. I was busy and traveling most of the time, and they always saw me on Facebook wherever I went.
I was thrilled to organize this getaway.
Since I learned to free dive, I've taken photos of them from a few meters down. Hahaha! They were so amazed at how easily I could go underwater and wished they could do the same thing.
I have so many photos, but I will create another blog post about them.
