It’s been days of contemplating and second-guessing. What will be my entry for this week's challenge-Macro Photography. I kept looking around for my subject. We have plants in our garden and for sure bees are there.
Unfortunately, I couldn't take a photo because the weather was bad-it's been raining for a few days. And having an entry like an insect, it's difficult to take and need to be quick. Something that is still and detailed. Days has passed, days of thinking, checking the weather. Still I don't have my entry. Nothing stood out for me and looked the same. It does not spark at all.
Then, this Saturday morning when I'm at work. While talking and drinking coffee with my workmates, I was greeted by a surprise when I saw something on the wall. It was an insect with long legs with a flat body. It was standing still on the wall near the big photo frame.
I was curious at my first reaction. I looked closely at it and it was a house centipede-an insect. Then, finally it came out of nowhere. I have my unexpected model. Who would have thought I have an entry. Because a few more days left before its deadline.
I don't want to lose the moment. And I don't know how long it will stay in the corner. My moment was precious. So I grabbed my phone and took the snapshots. I took the snaps quickly and carefully.
Other people don't like the house centipede, disgusting for them for me it was ok. I never imagine out of nowhere my model will come out. House centipede flat, or slim body like a model and with the tiny hairs on its legs.
For me it's not creepy. Everyone is unique in their own ways; it's either human and animal. Being unique has its own purpose. Like the house centipede, all legs have a purpose. I never imagined I have an entry already in unexpected place and model.
Today's experience taught me a lesson. Sometimes, we don't need to plan things because unexpected things happened that turned out to be good for me.
