Good morning, to all my great hivers here reading this post and joining me on this journey. Recently, I've been super duper busy renovating my house. It's been a couple of months so I have to put a deadline to make sure everything runs smoothly. The house is currently at 70 percent in completion.
That being said, since I have been so busy, I have to go out to have some time out before continuing. It has been tough juggling this as well as the main business that I have.
So I went to do some window shopping and check out the mall near my house.
I parked at the 5th floor of this mall. My wife stands beside our new car.
This car has been such a nice ride. It's great to reward ourselves for our hard work so we can work even harder. I did not go for those super luxurious cars to make sure that my life is sustainable and happy.
The view from the window here at the mall.
One of the stories about this mall and why this wooden frame is here at the moment is that there used to be deaths. A couple of them before these wooden frames were erected here. There were some suicides here where people jumped from the upper floors of this building.
The view of Miri's skyline.
The work in progress. More and more tall buildings have been built in this couple of years. There is also a new 500 megawatt gas turbine power station being built as well as a new bridge that is inspired by the Golden Gate bridge of the USA .
I usually take a photo of the floor of where I park my car just to remember where I park my car in case I forget the location.
So, after that I went to the nearest shop that sells blind boxes to check out their blind box.
After a short relaxful time at the mall, I headed back to the house to paint and see if there were things that I could do to improve everything.
The wooden floors used to look quite dull but I painted the whole floor and the walls. I puttied a part of it as the dry paint cracked and fell all over.
I guess that is a new skill unlocked.
Does the floor look good? I bought some wood paint varnish and painted the whole floor. It took a whole two good days and a lot of determination. This is the second floor.
I painted the doors too. Used to have lots of drawings on the walls. Kid's drawings. Lights were all dark all over the whole house. I changed all the lights to the new LED ones. Saves energy and brightens the place.
One of the paint I bought for the living room. Currently, this house has five rooms.
The main car park area
A lot of work needed. I cleared out the algae on the ceiling. The whole car park was full of old furniture and unwanted stuff. I threw them to the nearest place.
The toilet on the second floor. I cleaned the floor using stain removers. There were lots of stickers on the walls too. I spent hours scraping them out. The toilet bowl still needs a bit of work. Slightly dark inside. The water outlet from this toilet bowl leaked water so I bought some silicon and used my fingers and rubbed along the connecting pipe. Solved the problem. I learnt a lot while rennovating a lot of the stuff myself. Only the ones that needed a lot of people were all done by contractors.
After a bit of cleaning and painting. I fixed most of the locks around the house . Some were tough but I figured a way to fix them.
After that, I was out with my dad meeting up with his wonderful siblings. My dad is 67 this year.
So, that was how I spent my day. Rushing at the moment to complete everything and renting out rooms. I got the keys in February and it was a mess. I had to figure and plan out everything but with the help of family too. My dad used to be a contractor so a lot of the stuff he taught me.
I will be updating this until I get tenants and let you join in on my journey. One of the most exciting things that I love to do is to wake up with lots of expansion plan to increase my income as well as to do better everyday. When I have time, I will share with you my YouTube workflow and how I manage to put in time to have a YouTube channel that is monetized. In case you want to start a channel.
Have a great day.
