Wednesday Walk and Make me Smile .... 15.12.2021 Edition
The Ferrara Beach is one of the largest beaches in the town of Torrox which is very popular to the German retirees. It has the longest promenade in all the beaches (11 beaches in total) of the town. The Germans came here in the `70s and has sort of built a colony of their own, that sometimes hubby and I call this "Little Germany". Most of the bars, the restaurants, supermarket personnel speak German.
Torrox has claimed to have the best climate in Europe, based on the survey conducted by a british company, with an average of 18°C the whole year through. The town administration had the logo "Torrox, mejor clima de Europa" (Torrox, the best climate in Europe) patented.
On a Winter day like now, people still come with their families to enjoy the walk along the promenade that is about 1300 meters long and ends at the El Faro area (Lighthouse).
In some areas, locals or tourists simply sit along the shore and enjoy the sun. We took a walk here and went to have lunch at our favorite China Restaurant.
Favorite Restaurant
The view from the restaurant´s glass covered patio towards the sea is always lovely and cozy because it is sometimes interesting to watch people taking their walk on the beach and on the promenade. In Summer the beach is jampacked with beach goers.
Our favorite Resto is this China Restaurant called "Jing". They have good food particularly the Crispy Duck and Spring Rolls and of course the Sweet and Sour Pork.
After lunch, we slowly took a walk towards the car to go back home. The food had been so good and I could say that all in all... the beach, the restaurant, the locals and tourists alike as well as the sun made us smile!
