- Last weekend, my family and I stayed at my mom’s house for two days and two nights. It was such a joyful time for me. My kids got to spend time with their grandmother, whom we hadn’t seen in almost three months. The last time we visited was back in April, during the summer school break.
- Early in the morning, my mom prepared hot tea and a snack called "ปาท่องโก๋" (Pa Thong Ko), a type of fermented dough that’s deep-fried until crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. It tastes best when eaten fresh, slightly sweet and wonderfully fluffy. People here usually enjoy Pa Thong Ko with milk tea, coffee, or rice porridge, as they pair perfectly together.
- This hot tea tastes really good, fragrant, sweet, and rich. It pairs perfectly with Pa Thong Ko. Normally, I don’t usually eat sweet breakfasts like this, but this is truly delicious. My kids also said it’s amazing and really enjoyed eating it. I think I’ll have to look up a recipe and steps to make Pa Thong Ko and try making it myself sometime.
- Here is the rambutan ( a tropical fruit popular in Southeast Asia) was just picked from my older sister’s house. This is the season of the famous fruits of the South. Besides durian and mangosteen, there is also rambutan, which bears fruit around the same time. We helped each other pluck the rambutan from the branches. They are very fresh, sweet, and juicy. My mother divided half of them for me to take home and eat.
Here, there are pets: 2 dogs and 1 cat. They are very cute. I’ve taken photos of their adorable moments.
- The lovely cat is named Mickey. She is my older sister’s cat, a Thai Wichianmat (Siamese cat). She has a friendly and affectionate personality, especially when she’s with my mom, and she’s quite mischievous. According to ancient Thai beliefs, this breed of cat is said to bring good fortune and prosperity to the family.
This little white puppy is named Khanom Pang (which means bread). He belongs to my granddaughter. Though small, he barks loudly, keeping the house lively. My son seems quite fond of this dog.
And here is little Khanom Pang in his fancy outfits, he looks adorable!
- Khanom Pang in an อายิโนะโมโตะ (Ajinomoto) costume
- Khanom Pang in a รสดี (Ros Dee) costume
- Khanom Pang in a แฟนต้า (Fanta) costume
- This dog is named Kafae (which means coffee). He’s cute and friendly with everyone, and he loves lying down for belly rubs.
- My son and our other dog, Namcha (meaning tea), are siblings with Kafae. They’re also adorable and friendly with everyone.
- My mother’s vegetable garden has eggplants and chili peppers that she grows for our own meals.
- I picked some eggplants to eat fresh with our dinner. They were crispy, sweet, and delicious!
- In the evenings, we take walks around the house for exercise.
- It was a simple yet heartwarming getaway, filled with slow living and happy little moments. 😍
Thanks everyone for stopping by. Have a great day and see you soon. 🤗
