I took part in the April Hive Power Up Day where I powered up 1000HP. I received a comment from @hivebuzz congratulating me for being a dolphin. I was ecstatic as it was an important milestone for me. I would not even have known that I had achieved dolphin status if I did not receive a comment from @hivebuzz.
When I first joined Steemit way back in August 2016, I was a mere minnow. One of my aspirations back then was to be a dolphin. After the initial 3 years of blogging, it seems an impossible goal. I am glad that I did not give up and my hard work and preservance have finally paid off. I will continue to work hard to achieve Orca status.
One of the best things that have happened on the Hive platform is the creation of communities. I have received a lot of love and support from the various communities that I had joined. The development of a vibrant and thriving community will bring about a larger reward pool which would ultimately all members.
Here I like to share a few tips on how we can all contribute to these communities.
1. Post Unique and Interesting Articles
Write your articles with your target readers in mind. Once you know your target readers then you would know which community to post these articles. Put in the time and effort to write unique and interesting articles which offer value to your readers. A community with numerous unique and interesting articles will attract more readers and curators.
2. Curation
Besides writing articles, one should also vote for or curate quality posts. with a higher Hive Power, I now have more means to support quality posts. Don't forget that you can also earn curation rewards for curating. Since the end of March 2022, I had stop voting for my own articles. Previously, the first thing I do after posting an article was to vote for myself. I had stopped that practice so that I can support others who had produced quality work.
3. Engagement
A community thrives on engagement and interaction. One of the ways to engage with others is to take part in contests and challenges organized by the community. Do check out these challenges such as #wednesdaywalk, #makemesmile, #weekend-engagement, #marketfriday, #zapfic50friday and many others.
I am also very happy when someone takes the time and effort to comment on my post. I feel that my time and effort that I had put into writing the article have been appreciated by others. As such, I always take the time and effort to comment on other people's posts. While the value of my vote maybe not be high, my comments show that I appreciate their efforts.
4. Delegation
Delegating your Hive Power to the community will empower the leaders of the community to do more to develop the community. These leaders have put in a lot to develop the community and we can support them by delegating Hive Power to the community.
5. Investing In Hive
If you had read my post on cryptocurrency, you would know that investing in cryptocurrency is part of my retirement portfolio. I do not only depend on curation and author rewards to grow my Hive Power but I will also invest in Hive. With this, I can fast-tracked my journey to become an orca and also eventually be able to earn a passive income on Hive.
Since the end of March 2022, I had been posting daily. With determination, I hope to be able to sustain my momentum to post daily. I like to thank all those who had supported my journey on Hive so far. Now that I am a dolphin I hope that I will be in a better position to support others as well.

The Hive Blog Posting Month is a challenge where you post an article every day for the month of April. I have started posting daily since the middle of March and so I was very happy when I came across this challenge and I hope that it will help me to maintain my momentum.
