Hello everyone! I am a newbie here on this platform, Hive Blog, and I would like to thank you for welcoming me into this community.
I am Shirley Bartolome, 22 years old, and I'm from cavite, Philippines. I have many memories and experiences that I love to share with you all. In my introductory blog, I would like to share my life and how grateful I am for everything before I joined this community. I created this blog not only to share my stories but also to reveal the other side of me that no one knows. I want to share my knowledge, and I am also willing to learn and grow more with you in this community.
About me. I am an ESL teacher and a full-time single mom of one child, and before that happened, I was the second of my siblings. I am a strategic, independent, and hardworking person. We have a happy and complete family. We live a simple life that makes me content with what we have and our lives, and that simple life gives me the courage to dream more. Both my parents are farmers, and I'm very proud of that. Our eldest sibling is already building a new family, so I am the one who takes the responsibility to help my parents send my siblings to school. I am the breadwinner in our family, and because I'm not a college graduate and I can't find jobs that give me a high salary, I make my own money. In short, I have a small business, a sari-sari store and burger station, but it is not enough. So I enter different kinds of work to earn money. Sadly, I worked as an entertainer for 9 months. I know some people judge me because of my work, but it doesn't matter the workplace or the kind of work, what matters the most is the reason why they choose this job.
So here comes this guy who trusts me and loves me, which made me fall in love with him. I decided to quit my job and move in with my boyfriend. We have lived together for two years, we are happy, and our love has borne fruit; that is my little angel. Suddenly, I found out that he already has a family, and that hurt me so much.
It was so painful at that time because I am pregnant and I don't have a job. My family did not know until now, but the best thing I should do is let him go, not because I don't love him but because that is the right thing to do. It's so hard to raise a child alone, and I am thankful that I joined an ESL teaching group; it helps me a lot because this is what helps me financially. Now my child is 1 year and 3 months old, and I'm not fully moved on. It's so hurtful to see your child growing up without a complete and happy family, just like I experienced. We must be mindful when choosing the person we love, not only for ourselves but for our future family.
Therefore, we should be mindful when choosing someone we love. We all know that one of the worse part is losing someone we loved. Today, I cherish every moment with my child, and hopefully someday I will have fully moved on. I am very thankful to God for giving me everyday chances at life, even though I made a mistake. I believe that it happened for a reason, and the reason is my daughter.
This platform, I decided that in 2025, I will use this platform to help myself learn, grow to love myself more, and I would also like to hear every story and experience from everyone. Actually, I would like to thank @antonette for introducing and inviting me to this platform. At first, I didn't join because I had work and a baby to take care of. Then I took this opportunity because this is the time I can share my life, and I can also learn many things that will help me discover more about myself and mold myself together with you all. Thank you for reading my life story, I appreciate it very much. I will accept any judgment; I made a mistake, and I have already paid for this mistake.
