Hivemates, hello! Seth, it's me again, and I just wanted to invite you along on a recent little vacation that was straightforward but left me feeling incredibly fulfilled.
Have you ever had the urge to simply stop time for a moment? When you look around and realize… this is one of those days you’ll probably remember when you're older?
That was today.
We went to Orange View Resort, this peaceful place near the sea. The air was salty, the sun was soft, and the waves just had this calming rhythm that seemed to slow the world down. It wasn’t a big event or anything grand—we just wanted to breathe. To unwind. To be together before life starts pulling us apart.
One of my closest friends is leaving soon, moving to Jabonga—and that’s not just the next town over. It’s five hours away. It hit me differently, knowing we won’t just be able to hang out whenever we want anymore. So we decided to spend this one day just being present. Laughing. Taking photos. Making memories.
You know, it’s funny how photos can feel ordinary in the moment—just a quick snap with the sun behind you, or a group shot while someone shouts “smile!”—but later on, they become proof. Proof that we were happy. That we were there for each other. That we cared enough to capture it.
We all had different things on our minds.
One of our friends is getting married soon. Honestly, it still feels surreal. She used to be just like us—joking around, dreaming about the future, saying she’ll “never settle down until 30.” And now here she is, stepping into a whole new chapter of life.
Meanwhile, there’s me… and Ate Gleah. Still single. Still studying. Still figuring life out.
But you know what? I’m okay with that.
I think we all have our own timelines. Some of us are ready for marriage. Some are chasing careers. Some are still searching. And days like this remind me that no matter where we’re heading, it’s the memories we make in between that matter the most.
I looked around during sunset, and there was this moment of silence. Everyone just watching the sea, the sky turning golden, the waves softly breaking in front of us. I swear—no phones, no noise, just this quiet feeling like… we’re gonna be okay.
One day, we'll all be in different places. Different cities. Different lives. But that photo of us smiling under the orange sky? That will always remind me of the young, hopeful, and clinging people we were before the world changed once more.
So let's celebrate cozy friendships. To the memories we make in spite of all the unknowns. And to Orange View Resort—for giving us one more peaceful day before a new chapter begins.
