What's up, noodle cup!
I'm back on the ASEAN Hive Challenge again because this week's challenge is a great topic to write about.
We, Filipinos, have this belief to serve noodles during occasions especially during New Year because it symbolizes "long life". However, this does not clearly apply for instant noodles. Instant noodles isn't healthy but most of us still prefer this food because it's cheap and instant.
Filipinos suffering from poverty would buy 1 pack of instant noodles and mix it on rice to share it to their family of 6 or more. While the lazy and tired ones also go for this food because it's the easiest to prepare. And during calamities, instant noodles is among the foods distributed by the government to their constituents.
In my case, I eat instant noodles when I have no time to cook food or can't use the kitchen. It's also my go to food when I run out of meals to cook.
Aside from the reasons I've mentioned above, I also use the cup noodles to plant seeds for the garden. After cleaning and drying the cup, I punch holes in it and fill it with garden soil.
With the plethora of instant noodle brands and flavors in the market, here are my favorite noodles I buy over and over again.

First on the list is Lucky Me!'s Pancit Canton Chilimansi flavor. This is my bar the best noodles for me which is why it frustrates me when it's sold out when I go to the grocery store. The taste of lime and chili is so good and just right. Not so sour and so spicy. Perfect! I'd recommend this to anyone.
Years ago, people on social media were debating which among Lucky Me!'s Chilimansi and Sweet and Spicy tasted better. They even call it Team Chilimansi versus Team Sweet and Spicy.
I've tasted sweet and spicy before and that sealed my verdict.
Team Chilimansi forever! Haha
Look, I even had a chilimansi noodles pin made by @leanwithdoublen She gifted along with other clay pins and stickers last year when we went to watch a movie.
Second on my menu is Nissin's Creamy Seafood and Cheesy Seafood cup noodles. There's actually four variants of Nissin seafood aside from the plain seafood flavor. Creamy Seafood, Hot Creamy Seafood, Cheesy Seafood, and Hot Cheesy Seafood. I love all these flavors except for the plain seafood flavor.
I have a little story to share. Back in 2019 my mom and I went to a popular ramen restaurant and ordered a ramen that is seafood flavor. I forgot the exact name of the meal but the staff explained that it is seafood. Guess what, the taste reminds me of Nissin's seafood noodles. Lol.

Third on the list is Nissin's Creamy Carbonara. Yeah, I like creamy noodles a lot! This is our favorite noodles back when mama was still here. I love it when she prepares this for our dinner and pairs it with sliced boiled egg and toasted bread with butter. Yum!
I still buy this today but not as much as before because it's only available in pouch. I prefer cup noodles because I can use the cup for planting seeds. :)
Well, this isn't asked but one flavor of instant noodles that I don't like is batchoy. It's greasy. That's all. Lol.
Instant noodles has saved us in many situations and eating it especially the third on my list would always remind me of my mom. Although instant noodles shouldn't be part of our regular diet. We only try to consume it at least once a week or every two weeks.
That's it, pancit! (noodles) (It's a common expression here in the Philippines because of how the words rhyme.) 😄
