We don't know if you heard about it in the news, but our country, the Philippines, has faced typhoons in July that caused torrential rain from day to night. It continued for about three weeks. Classes were suspended. Electricity was shut down. And we have experienced strong winds and heavy rainfall as well.
Despite the situation, we needed to go out to buy some essentials, like water and food. And we saw the effect of the typhoons as we got out of our homes. Some of the stores are closed due to the heavy rain, and the surroundings look dark because of the clouds.
On the sides of the road, there are branches of trees that fall off. There are also leaves. The drainage has overflowing water as well. We could not clean the streets in weather like this; we need to wait for the rainy days to calm down.
Even with the pouring rain, people are going out, headed to our local grocery store. It is just a small one, but it has almost everything you will ever need. Also, it was located just beside the gasoline station. We were also walking towards the grocery store when we saw a lot of people lining up inside. It means they may be buying food or other essentials.
During these days, we are just lucky that we do not experience the landslide and flash floods like in other parts of the country. We are seeing their situations through social media and news, and we pray for their safety during these moments. Indeed, it is really challenging for us to cope when typhoons are entering our country.
So, that's it for today. Thank you so much for reading. See you on our next blog. Sending good vibes to everyone!
