Have you ever been super excited about attending a wedding? I have! I've done being a flower girl, little bride, bridesmaid, and maid of honor at different weddings. Everyone wants to dress up and look their best.
This was the last wedding where I was chosen as the bridesmaid. She was a relative on my dad's side. On that day, I thought I wouldn't be chosen as part of the bridesmaid because I was studying far away at the time. But the bride changed her mind on the wedding schedule. The groom and bride make sure that there chosen schedule has no classes so that students could really attend, nor all are available.
Timing was perfect when I went home to Bukidnon, and it was the day they were going to measure our wedding outfits. At first, I didn't know I was included, and I was shocked when the bride said, "Is your mom here, ate? We want to include you as one of our bridesmaids”. I didn't think twice and said okay. I really wanted to join on their wedding day. Being a wedding guest is great, you will all look great, you can eat lots of food, and there are so many benefits to be a guest at a wedding. Besides of having a grand entrance, you might get to partner with a handsome, tall guy, and most importantly, he might even be your cousin. Isn't that amazing because my partner was my cousin?
Last year, I was a maid of honor and hoped to meet a potential boyfriend. But nothing happened. The guy just wasn't interesting to me. I quickly lose interest in guys who are too eager or clingy.
I sometimes, I like the person at first, but quickly lose interest. I hate this dudes that are so willing and are too obvious when they have a crush on me. I immediately lose attraction if guy is too desperate.
I was really nervous as a bridesmaid before the wedding. I suffered hours of anxiety worried about my outfit, my shoes and my hairstyle. I wanted to look good, but all of this overthinking kept me up until late at night and I was struggling to try and sleep.
Exactly on the wedding day, I arrived at the venue first. This meant I was the first to get my makeup done. The makeup artist said joked thing, I would be the first to get married because I was her first client. I was so shocked on what the makeup artist said, its maybe because I was definitely eager that time to arrive at the venue so early. I’ve been attending lot of weddings before, but this was my first time being a maid of honor. I was both excited and nervous.
I wanted to curl my hair that time, but the makeup artist said they couldn't since my hair still wet that time. What’s funnier was that the gown didn't fit on me, the waistline was totally wrong and too big. Luckily, my mom came to the rescue and found a solution.
All I can say is, I looked like a real person at that time. To be fair, I looked good, we all look good. Do you want to know how scared was I of the wedding? I ran when it was time to throw the bouquet. I definitely didn't want to go first.
It was a beautiful experience. I met lots of people, the bride and groom were happy, and I got to eat a lot of good food.
