Camden's Changing
I'm not a big fan of temporary or ultramodern installations in soulful or historic places like Camden. This particular bit has been put up to replace what was there before. It looks pretty cool, and a lot of people are enjoying it no doubt, but because I know what was there before, it's a downgrade in my view.
It reminds me of the "temporary" boxes that were placed in Shoreditch many years ago, but are still there now. They became too financially successful I suppose. Lots of restaurants, bars and small shops make it attractive to tourists - especially when they're brightly coloured like this one in Camden.

Ah. I'm just being a grouch. It is nice and it does at least fit into the atmosphere. I'm also quite sure that what was there before was so old that it might not have been structurally safe anymore. I don't know. It's just that these places are changing so fast now and sometimes they completely lose their soul in the process.
Peace & Love,
