What’s north of Islington, and Finsbury Park, is a pretty old and heavily residential part of London. It’s got some of the best Victorian architecture in London too.
Walking up Crouch Hill can be a little tasking if your fitness levels aren’t up to scratch. Thankfully, I’m a walker, so I flew up the hill no problem. This hill actually peaks halfway through the road and then heads back down to Crouch End, after which, if going north, you’d have to climb up another hill.
At either end of Crouch Hill, trendy cafes and shops can been seen on the ground floor of some pretty vintage looking buildings. In the middle near the peak, are mainly residential homes - houses and flats alike. Some of those flats are probably worth more than some fully detached houses in other parts of the city.
The area is serviced by Crouch Hill on the London Overground network. There are other nearby stops on this network, as well as rail and tube options. Busses too, of course, as is the case everywhere in London.
The coolest bar/cafe I saw around there was called “Plan B” which reminded me of a certain Crypto analyst.
