Hello The Herbal Hive Lovers,this is my post for March Challenge: Share Your 'DeTox' Herbs! I feel called to take part in this challenge, because I am a herbal lover. At home I have many herbs. there are herbal plants that are used by eating such as ginger, turmeric and curcuma. There are also types of herbal plants for external treatment such as castor leaves, turmeric leaves and betel leaves.

Because the March challenge is herbal detox themed, so I will write according to the theme. we need to remove toxins from the body by detoxification. Detoxification is a way of removing toxins from the body, toxins can enter the body because of our own lifestyle such as diet. Even though we have maintained a healthy diet, toxins can still enter the body without us realizing it, such as poisons that come from residual pesticides found in vegetables that we buy in the market.In addition to food, polluted air can also enter through our respiratory tract and settle in the body so that for a long time it causes the body to be poisoned. This air pollution can come from exhaust fumes from motorized vehicles or from cigarette smoke in the environment around us.

I think there are two types of detox that we can do,namely detoxification of the room / environment where I live and detoxifying the body by consuming herbal plants.
The first part : Detox room/living environment.
This type of detox is one of the most beneficial detox for ourselves, our environment and even the earth "the green planet" where various living things live. This detox functions to clean pollutants, especially air pollutants around us.

The way that I have done is to plant plants that can absorb and reduce the pollutants around me. I grow mother-in-law's tongue / Sansevieria and Ivory betel plant / Epipremnum aureum. These two types of plants are ornamental plants in the room and also in the yard. These two types of plants are believed to be able to absorb toxins and harmful pollutants around us.
Planting various types of plants, especially those that can function as herbal detox, means that we participate in maintaining the integrity of our earth which is filled with pollutants due to the lifestyle of mankind. we don't need to delay time to take part in detoxifying our earth with herbs, let's plant every inch of our land with herbs. love yourself, your family and our environment with herbal detox.
The second part: Detox the body with herbs.
Body detox is useful for removing toxins from the body naturally. the way we can do is by exercising regularly and consuming herbal detox to help remove toxins from the body. exercise can help the body excrete toxins because by exercising we excrete waste, exercising means sweating and removing the rest of the salt from the body.
some herbs that have been proven effective for detoxification are ginger, coriander and lemon (of course there are many other herbs for detox).

How to use coriander, ginger and lemon for detox?
1.coriander seeds
The parts of the coriander plant that are used to detoxify the body are the leaves and seeds. because I don't have coriander leaves, I will share how to use coriander seeds to detox the body. I got this method from a friend of mine who practices alternative medicine with various herbs. The ingredients we use are two tablespoons of coriander seeds and 500 mL of water.
How to use coriander seeds for detox is to boil coriander seeds with water until it boils and the water content decreases. water content which was initially 500 mL after being boiled to 300 mL.

After we boil the coriander seeds until it boils then we filter the water, this coriander boiled water is what we make as a body detox.
how to consume it is to drink coriander seed boiled water in the morning before breakfast, this coriander water herb is a diuretic, because it is not recommended for diabetics.
2.Lemon
Lemon has long been known as an herbal detox, its use is also very easy, you only need to mix warm water with a slice of lemon. I usually use 500 ml of warm water and 1/2 part lemon. We can consume this lemon detox every morning before breakfast.
at the beginning of consuming this lemon detox, my body was a little surprised which was marked by stomach cramps. but after a few days of drinking lemon water my body feels lighter and healthier.
Lemon water is believed to be able to bind free radicals that enter the body and remove toxins in the body through the digestive process.
3.Ginger rhizome
Ginger rhizome is one of the oldest herbs that are rich in benefits. Ginger has been known by the public to treat various diseases and prevent various health problems. Ginger is also used as an herbal detox, the way ginger works as a detox is to bind free radicals and toxins that enter the body. The active compound gingerol contained in ginger is able to bind free radicals and toxins that enter the body.
The ingredients we use to detox the body with ginger are one segment of ginger, 50 grams of palm sugar and 500 mL of water.
Before being processed into herbal detox, we have to burn ginger to remove the essential oil content contained in ginger. we can put it in the oven or directly burn it with fire until the outer skin is charred / the outer skin peels off.
After we burn the ginger, then we peel the outer skin. After that, wash and cut the ginger into small pieces.
it's time to boil the ginger, add palm sugar, ginger pieces and water to the pot, then boil until boiling.
serve the ginger water warm, drinking ginger water can also increase the body's immune system, prevent and overcome colds and flatulence.
