Good morning Hive community, surfers, journalists, general enthusiasts of our ecosystem. Today I'm going to share with you a little about the power of our network and an event that happened in relation to an old article I wrote here at @surfhive.

In November last year, I shared a text here with you called "The paradigm behind wave pool 🏊 Does nature suffer or not? 🚯" in short, this text highlighted negative and positive points about the construction of a wave pool (in my opinion, of according to surfing experiences in different countries). But in fact, the most important point of the text was to highlight the part about nature, environmental protection and not exaggeration and vulgarity regarding the surfing contest, as this could end up mixing things up and hindering essential actions of the sport in favor of conservation.
What happened 1 month later was that "nouausurfenboite", a French surfing collective that provides cooperative services to several global surfing associations, contacted me talking about the text addressing wave pools, who liked the text as it had to do with the issues environmental issues of water, biodiversity, among a balanced view of the topic as I approached.
They are fighting against a wave pool project with a huge environmental impact in Hawaii. and it was an honor to be able to contribute in some way, with the use of technology, in this case the #hive ecosystem.
Several posts and informative materials were made and continue to fight for this cause to this day. I'll leave the project page here if you're interested, you can go to the profile and follow it more closely.

I'm not going to go into much depth regarding the French friends' project to protect an area in Hawaii that would be destined for the construction of a wave pool. In my text, I try to divide the positive and negative points well, but it is certainly something broad that it would be impossible for a relatively short text to cover with excellence, because as much as wave pools are a project with high energy costs and "peculiarities" strange" in terms of construction, it is something innovative that can greatly help a new generation of the sport as well as the enterprise.
It is very gratifying to see our work taking on greater proportions and serving as support/inspiration for consolidated projects of many people involved who seek a more natural and preserved planet.
Nowadays the world is so polarized that even with attempts at theoretically positive actions, there will be a group of people predestined to delay the project in some way. So there's nothing like clear communication, transparency and respect, principles that we try to build here at Web3 and at Hive, so that they help the project in question to be resourceful.
And I really hope to be able to help people, projects, with my texts, as they are written by someone who lives the reality of the scene intensely, but in no way does not consider the opinion and vision of those who live "less intensely" or someone who He's more of an outsider in the bubble. Respect first.
After all, we only think we know everything, but we know a tiny fraction of things, with each action, it generates a reaction of the same intensity, but this is no longer within our control. So here is my "documentation" of this interaction with this ocean protection group and global interaction with environmental activities from a dissertation text on wave pools.
The Importance of a Broad Vision in Surfing: Inclusion and Sustainability
Surfing, a sport deeply connected to nature, offers a unique platform for inclusion and significant advancements. It not only brings together people from diverse backgrounds but also promotes personal and athletic development. However, it is crucial that the growth and popularization of surfing are balanced with respect and preservation of the natural environment where it is practiced.
With the introduction of wave pools to the market, the dynamics of surfing are changing. These innovations allow more people to access the sport, but they also bring challenges related to sustainability and environmental preservation. The example of the Olympics in France illustrates this dilemma well. Despite the support of the surfing community, the construction of a large structure over the coral reefs of Tahiti Teahupo'o raised concerns about environmental impact.
When surfing becomes a subject of capitalization and financial interests, the community must remain vigilant and active. It is essential that everyone involved is aware of the consequences of their actions, ensuring that development occurs in an orderly and positive manner. Without this leadership and care, we risk disorganization and harm to the ecosystem.
Therefore, as we move towards syntropy – the harmonization of the involved elements and forces – we must strive to ensure that progress in surfing is sustainable and benefits both practitioners and the environment. Active and conscious advocacy for our sport and our planet is essential for a balanced and prosperous future for all.
