I wasn't sure at first what to make of today's lego advent toy. Again, just like yesterday, when these pieces fell out of their bag they just sat there on the desk looking like a random array of pieces.
It turned into a really awesome carriage! I continue to be amazed at what Lego can do with just a few pieces.
I was on the fence about getting the Harry Potter advent this year. Last year was City and the years before Star Wars. As a general rule I do not like spending money on licensed items (such as Star Wars or Harry Potter); I refuse to even wear clothing that has the markings of logo of a company on the grounds that if they want me to be their marketing material, they'll give me the clothing free of charge! Not to mention that this was $10 more expensive than the City, and it's just money spent for licensing.
However, so far, two of the items (yesterday's ship and today's carriage) are really awesome, and I can see myself using them elsewhere. This one, in fact, with the ghost horse can easily be slid into my Halloween collection.
The Yule Story, Continued
When Harry was younger he had often dreamt of being a stagecoach driver. That would have been more fun than living under the stair case; hell, anything would have been more fun than that! Driving a stagecoach with a ghost horse was beyond imagination until he saw it.
Of course, someone had to be inside that stagecoach that rumbled up the path to the castle. He wondered who it was.
