The tide was receding as we set foot on the mudflats at the Meuraksa estuary yesterday. Yesterday afternoon's weather wasn't as hot as it had been the day before. As always, I walked along the sandy mudflats and found a hermit crab with a white shell. Its 'home' resembled a pitcher. It was in a small puddle—perhaps scavenging for feed. I picked it up and moved it to a sedimentary rock, waited for its head to emerge from its shell, and then took some pics.
