It's been a while since I've posted here, and I apologize for disappearing. The reason is that I didn't have much content to share with you, so I spent the month I was away creating more.
Tenía tiempo sin pasar por aquí a publicar, me disculpo por desaparecer. Mi motivo es que no tenía tanto contenido para enseñarles y me dediqué a crear más durante este mes que no estuve.
I'm back with these black-and-white photographs I took of some very important teachers here in Venezuela. The conductor, Felipe Izcaray, and the solo singer, Idwer Alvarez. They were very special guests at the Yaracuy System in July. They came here to perform Antonio Estévez's Cantata Criolla with the Yaracuy Youth Symphony Orchestra.
Vuelvo con estas fotografías a blanco y negro que les tomé a unos maestros muy importantes de acá de Venezuela. El director, llamado Felipe Izcaray y el cantante solista llamado Idwer Alvarez. Fueron unos invitados muy especiales en el Sistema Yaracuy en el mes de julio. Vinieron para acá a interpretar la Cantata Criolla de Antonio Estévez junto a la Orquesta Sinfónica de la Juventud Yaracuyana.
The Cantata Criolla is a Venezuelan musical work that tells the story of a sung duel between Florentino and the Devil, based on the poem “Florentino y el Diablo” by Alberto Arvelo Torrealba. The piece presents a confrontation between good and evil, where Florentino, representing virtue and popular culture, faces the Devil, symbol of temptation and darkness.
La Cantata Criolla es una obra musical venezolana que narra la historia de un duelo cantado entre Florentino y el Diablo, basado en el poema "Florentino y el Diablo" de Alberto Arvelo Torrealba. La pieza presenta un enfrentamiento entre el bien y el mal, donde Florentino, representando la virtud y la cultura popular, se enfrenta al Diablo, símbolo de tentación y oscuridad.
Maestro Felipe conducted the Cantata Criolla for the first time on March 15, 1987, and has not stopped doing so since. The composer himself, Antonio Estévez, entrusted Felipe with conducting this work, and he was advised by the composer from the first rehearsal with the choir.
El maestro Felipe dirigió la Cantata Criolla por primera vez el 15 de marzo de 1987, desde ese momento no ha parado de hacerlo. El mismo compositor, Antonio Estévez, le encomendó a Felipe dirigir esta obra, quien fue asesorado por el compositor desde el primer ensayo con el coro. En el caso del maestro Idwer, ha interpretado a Florentino más de 100 veces.
