Hello dear Black and White community,
I came from walking among mountains, fog, and women with braids and colorful skirts, and suddenly… the most brutal heat I’ve ever felt in my life. That’s what it was like arriving in Las Vegas, a city unlike anything else.
I remember the moment I set foot there it felt like stepping into a movie. The hotels were like cities themselves. There was a piece of Paris, a piece of Rome, the Nevada desert roasting me like a chicken, and an energy that never stops. I couldn’t sleep. Not because of the noise, but because of the excitement for what the next day would bring.
I recently found these photos, buried in my Toshiba hard drive. They’re from 2023, and even though it hasn’t been that long, I feel like a different person now. Sometimes memory fails, but the camera doesn’t.
I remember Caesar’s Palace, its marble statues and golden columns. I remember the Eiffel Tower at the Paris hotel huge, imposing, surrounded by modern cars and lots of drunk people. The Bellagio fountains, a show that felt alive. And the Beatles at The Mirage… I love the Beatles.
It was a world of contrasts, and I just wanted to capture it all.
Today, I share these images from a different place. Not just geographically, but emotionally too. From the Andes to the desert, the camera was always with me. And this series is just part of the journey.

Hola querida comunidad en Blanco y Negro
Venía de caminar entre cerros, neblina, mujeres con trenzas y polleras de colores, y de pronto… el calor más brutal que he sentido en mi vida. Así fue llegar a Las Vegas, una ciudad que no se parece a nada.
Recuerdo que apenas puse un pie ahí, sentí que estaba dentro de una película. Los hoteles eran como ciudades en sí mismos. Había un pedazo de París, otro de Roma, el desierto de Nevada cocinándome como pollo asado y una energía que no se apaga nunca. Me costaba dormir. No por el ruido. Sino por la emoción de lo que me esperaba al día siguiente.
Las fotos de este post las encontré hace poco, perdidas en mi disco duro Toshiba. Son del 2023, y aunque no haya pasado tanto tiempo, siento que soy otra persona desde entonces. A veces la memoria falla, pero la cámara no.
Recuerdo el Caesar’s Palace, sus estatuas de mármol y columnas doradas. Recuerdo la Torre Eiffel del hotel París, gigante, imponente, pero rodeada de autos modernos y muchos borrachos. Las fuentes del Bellagio, un espectáculo como si la fuente tuviera vida. Y los Beatles en The Mirage… me encantan los Beatles.
Era un mundo de contrastes, y yo solo quería capturarlo todo.
Hoy comparto estas imágenes desde otro lugar. No solo físico, también emocional. Desde la cordillera al desierto, desde los Andes a Las Vegas, la cámara siempre fue mi compañera. Y esta serie es solo una parte del camino.
