Back in May, I shot the second edition of the annual Roots Revue music festival here in Louisville. It was supposed to be for a piece in the local alternative weekly paper, but the writer I was working with has been having a hard time of it lately and I don't know if anything will come of it.
Not really concerned about it, the press pass was all I was getting paid anyways. Journalism isn't really what I'd call a paying career these days, the paper wasn't going to pay either of us for the piece. Got close to fifty photos picked out for it though that I'm not quite sure what to do with.
These ain't them, shot something like 3400 photos that weekend, so there's plenty extra for Hive. Was going to take another swing at a piece for the paper with Pride this past weekend but my neck had other plans. Figured I might as well edit a few more from the festival while I wait for it to stop being angry.
The title comes from a song the Moron Brothers, one of whom is pictured above, performed on the second day. Still trying to decide whether it was undercover cocaine joke. Seemed appropriate for one of those 'you better enjoy it because you ain't getting paid' gigs.
Can't bitch too much, any day that you get to see Sam Bush for free is a good day. Throw in the other nine bands that performed and I'm calling it a win.
