Black and white photography is one of the most attractive styles for me and that is why I always shoot with this aesthetic and variation. Taking into account that the first black and white photographs were taken in the 1800's and that for at least a century they remained that way, they have never been underrated once color photography appeared.
At that time the realization of this type of photographs was quite complicated, arduous and expensive work. Today it is not like that and we can play with this photographic style in different ways. Today I want to share a series of photos taken at the Colon Theater and for this occasion I decided to do it at night.
I want to mention that I took some different shots and for the first one, which is the cover photo, I captured a kind of reflections through the edges of a glass on the floor and focusing on the side of the building, where the contrast of the glass was one of the protagonists and what generated a more interesting result.
La fotografía en blanco y negro es uno de los estilos más atractivos para mí y es por ello que siempre realizó tomas con ésta estética y variación. Tomando en cuenta que las primeras fotografías en blanco y negro fueron en los años 1800 y que por al menos un siglo permanecieron así, nunca han sido menospreciadas una vez apareció la fotografía a color.
En aquella época la realización de este tipo de fotografías era bastante complicado, un trabajo arduo y además muy costoso. El día de hoy no es así y podemos jugar con este estilo fotográfico de diversas formas. El día de hoy quiero compartir una serie de fotos realizadas en el teatro colón y para esta ocasión decidí hacerlo en la noche.
Quiero mencionar que realicé algunas tomas diferentes y para la primera fotografía que viene siendo la foto de portada capté una especie de reflejos mediante bordes de un vidrio en el piso y enfocando la parte lateral del edificio, dónde el contraste de éste fue uno de los protagonistas y lo que generó un resultado más interesante.
For these photographs I also wanted to place the lens on the floor, blurring it and leaving the theater itself in focus. The people included in the photograph give an appropriate touch and form a good composition in my opinion.
For the next two photographs, I placed myself on the other side, specifically in one of the corners of the building and what I liked about this photo besides playing a little with the shadows and lighting is that a car was about to pass by and you can see the flash of light from it in one of the corners and I found that very, very attractive.
The last photograph is similar to the first of these three but this time a little darker in terms of the floor due to the location, a little different from the first one.
Para estas fotografías también quise colocar el objetivo en el suelo, desenfocándolo y dejando enfocado el propio teatro. Las personas incluidas en la fotografía dan un toque apropiado y forman una buena composición en mi opinión.
Para las dos siguientes fotografías me situé en el otro lado, concretamente en una de las esquinas del edificio y lo que me gustó de esta foto además de jugar un poco con las sombras y la iluminación es que estaba a punto de pasar un coche y se ve el destello de luz del mismo en una de las esquinas y eso me pareció muy, muy atractivo.
La última fotografía es similar a la primera de estas tres pero esta vez un poco más oscura en cuanto al suelo debido a la ubicación, un poco diferente a la primera.
In this section we find the main entrance of the theater as seen from 9 de Julio Avenue and there is no doubt that the whole building is amazing no matter if you see it from the front, the side or the back. Although from this angle you can appreciate very well the upper part that contains a triangular structure very illuminated and striking.
The balconies and windows of this theater captivate the people who pass by. Being one of the most important theaters in Latin America, it is also a symbol chosen by many photographers of the city because of its location, it offers an infinite number of photographs in all styles. To have done it in monochromatic was amazing.
En esta sección encontramos la entrada principal del teatro visto desde la avenida 9 de Julio y no cabe duda de que es asombroso todo el edificio sin importar si lo ves desde el frente, un costado o lo parte trasera. Aunque desde éste ángulo se puede apreciar muy bien la parte superior que contiene una estructura triangular muy iluminada y llamativa.
Los balcones y ventanales de este teatro cautivan a las personas que pasan por acá. Siendo uno de los teatros más importantes de Latinoamérica, es un símbolo elegido además por muchos fotógrafos de la ciudad ya que por su ubicación ofrece infinidades de fotografías en estos los estilos. Haberlo hecho en monocromatico fue alucinante.
Finally there are these three pictures, two up here ☝🏻 where I show you the other side of this emblematic building with focus from the floor and another one where I add part of the vegetation that is in the place, a little similar but not so much when you detail.
The last picture I took in the place was the back of the theater, placing myself in the Lavalle square where there is also a small monument where they held musical events of classical music and orchestras. This is one of the most popular views of this building, the back part is even more photographed than the main facade 👇🏻
Para finalizar están éstas tres fotografías, dos acá arriba ☝🏻 en dónde les muestro el otro costado de este emblemático edificio con enfoque desde el piso y otro en dónde agrego parte de la vegetación que se encuentra en el lugar, un poco parecidas pero no tanto cuando detallas.
La última fotografía que tome en el lugar fue la parte trasera del teatro, situandome en la plaza Lavalle dónde además se encuentra un pequeño monumento dónde realizaban eventos musicales de música clásica y orquestas. Ésta es una de las vistas más populares de este edificio, la parte trasera, es más fotografiada incluso que su fachada principal 👇🏻
